I'm excited to see how this is going to unfold actually. But do you think he'll improve his positions on the grid by switching?

Marc VDS team principal Michael Bartholemy is also Redding's personal manager.
He said Redding wanted to go to Ducati, so he made the deal happen.
Now the Marc VDS motogp ride is open for Rabat

It's hard to tell. I won't go as far as saying the RC213V is a POS, but it is an incredibly complex bike to master. Cal has been struggling this year and he is an experienced GP rider. Redding did pretty well last year with no pressure on a fairly basic bike, but with a new team and him trying to learn all the idosynchrosies of a bike as complex as the Honda, I think he's just done in mentally.

A change to Pramac will boost his confidence, but he'll be on a concession designed 2015 bike which will be slower than the 2016 Honda, so yes I think he'll be happier but won't be doing much better.

It all depends how it goes at the factory team then, because he WILL be fighting with Petrucci for Dovi's seat at some point.

Maybe it's a Britt thing.
Crutchlow, Redding....

"I want a motogp bike "
"I want a different one"
"I want a different one now "

Give me a factory RCV and i will run with Marquez. 2014
Give me a factory Ducati and i can beat Danilo Petrucci. 2015
I can only imagine what his demands will be this time next year.
Scott is living off a fluke win on his home track from what 7-8 years ago that got his name in the record books. I dont think he is in the same class of rider as even Crutchlow, much less the top 4. He always has an excuse and the next race is always when he is going to turn it around. As far as Rabat getting his ride, i think that is a mistake as well. A career Moto2 rider who took advantage of a field of inexperienced talent to win a title, same thing Zarco is doing this year. If i were Honda, i would buy Rins out of his Moto2 deal before i would waste a year ....... around with Rabat. Maybe even baby Marquez. After a very slow start, he has seen the light and found the speed to run at the front. I expect him to progress quickly from here on out.

Compare that with Petrucci, who kept his head down on the Ioda, said the GP14.1 was the best bike he's ever ridden, podiumed on it last time out then has the humility to say that Redding will push him and the team forward next year.

I really enjoyed Petrucci's podium but you don't ride for Ioda team without bringing a sackload of cash.
More an indictment of Ioda/G Sacchi and the grid slots system than of Pet.

Wasn't Petrucci a former cop? Was he on the take or do cops just make that much money in Italy?

He is "sponsored" by the Police Association:

Danilo Petrucci:
You know many riders have to pay to race. I pay a lot of money in the Superstock class. That was my father that funded me to race. He works for me since I was a child and he helps me a lot. Sometime I hope to earn money from racing. I think that's important.

Crash.net:
You are part of the Italian State police sports squad – did that include police training when you were younger?

Danilo Petrucci:
It's really strange to speak about this with you, it's difficult to explain. In Italy we have many sports group from the soldier, Carabinieri, fireman, aeronautics. Only the police have a sports group in motorcycling. The best riders in Enduro and Motocross – now we have [Alessandro] Lupino – are from the police sports group.

Loris Capirossi, when he was a child, was in the police sports group. In another sports like swimming, fencing, running there are not so much sponsor. Athletes can't live but the police help the best athletes in Italy to continue the sports career. They give you the chance to remain in the group and at the end of the career you can choose to go out of the police or work like a policeman.

It's an honour to stay in the police. I have always the dream to be fast like Loris Capirossi – he is my idol. He was in the police when he worked with my father. I was growing up with that theme and one day it comes to reality. Now I only miss three world championships to be like Capirossi. It's the most difficult part!

Agreed, but most riders/drivers don't get to the top level without someone fronting up a lot of cash.

Does anyone know what is happening to Yonny Hernandez?

Most likely going to Avintia with Hector Barbera (Willski's favourite rider)

Pity I was hoping he would move up to a top team, win everything, become world champion then the boots we won at day of champions would be worth a fortune. Here's wishing lol.
