redbull rookies trials.

Just had a yarn with maxs old man. Him and a few of the other aussies done ok and got selected for the second round, unfortunately nine have been selected for next years series.

One point that he made to me: they were told by dorna reps that they're looking for clean lines and smooth riding style, not necessarily outright laptimes. Max tried to ride as smooth as possible not pushing to hard so as not to crash. The spaniards at the trial were ragged and fast. These bikes had transponders and the selection criteria ended up being based on laptimes.

Sounds dodgy.

Anyway max is aiming for moto2, they've brought an FTR bike and will run that at a few select races. Mostly he is gonna cut laps at phillip island and put in nomination for a wildcard next season.

Cheers, BWB.

I've been following the trials...not much details other than names.

That's 23 riders. Is that the line up for the next season? Not a bad spread of nationalities if so. Good luck to all the riders next season.

He did say one female rider got through, a spaniard I believe, is that Joan Mir?

Not sure...given there was a Joan Olive.

No Seppos, but a Kazakhstan rider got in...
