Rd 5 WSBK Monza

Who saw crutchlow yawning and pointing at the screen with the f1 race going on? Hahaha. Hilarious. Btw worste f1 race up to date this season

Too bad for Cal, I really felt he was just waiting until the last couple laps and that he had a chance.

Whilst the Aprillia is obviously a missile, Max rode very very well.... Although I still think Haslam will win the championship.

Another peach of a day from WSBK with a bonus from the `Pie` in the commentary box.

no doubt, 3rd place is MILES behind in points so i think the two of them are gonna fight it out

It's still too early to say that. Anything can happen. The leaders can have a bad weekend (i.e. crash out of both races) and the followers in the standings can have a great weekend and close the points gap. There is this unpredictability that I like about WSBK over MotoGP.

I was pulling for Biaggi, glad to see him double. The 2nd race was fun to watch, good save by the "Pocket Rocket"! Hated to see Crutchlow go out with a mechanical, but I guess if your going to go down the slowest corner on the track is the place to do it.

Our coverage here in the US was typically poor.........who caused the race 2 mishap? To me, it didn't look like Haga had much to do with it even though they were initially pointing the finger at him. Any idea's?

Hated to see JT go out early after starting to show some promise and consistency.

From my vantage point, Haga was to blame. He made a quick move to his left and the carnage was on.

Althea.

Genesio Bevilacqua (General Manager) says: "It's evident that at Monza there is a significant difference between the performance of the two and the four cylinders. This regulation means that there is a risk of "falsifying" a show that, thanks to the performances of such talented riders, could be even more spectacular and enthralling."

"There is a defect in the regulation and something should change, because we have no chance to fight, on a level playing field, with the other bikes. We enjoy to battle it out on track but we must also speak to the FIM and the championship organizers, who need to find a solution. We have two of the strongest Superbike riders but with our Ducatis we have had a disappointing day. This is wrong..."

Everybody could have said that yesterday, and most who follow the sport kind of figured the Ducati would struggle at Monza. They are down on power though, and the track, especially now with the reconfigured chican, magnified it. The Flaminnis are in a catch 22 position, if they dont do something, they run the risk of pissing off the Italian fan base and fans all over the world who pull for Ducati. If they do make changes and Ducati starts winning hand over fist, it will be the old perception of Ducati favoritism again. The formula for adjustments could have clearly been implemented after the 3rd event. but for some reason it was not. I am against mid season rules changes because it smacks of competition manipulation. If they are going to change, it needs to be done in the off season so everyone knows what they have and what they have to prepare for. Im not sure a 3-6kg weight reduction would solve Ducatis problem, where would they take it off, how would it affect the geometry of the bike. Question for gearheads, what makes the Aprilia so damn fast. Is it superior aero, or is the v4 platform just better suited for making horsepower.

Who started it.? Rea looks like he's been tagged across into the pack ?

Looks like he just drifted to his left and bumped someone's brake lever. He caused it, but I don't know if it was one of those racing incidents were fault really matters. It just happened b/c there was a lot of traffic and an uncovered brake lever.

Anyway, too bad for Crutchlow. I was hoping for a good race 2, but his engine gave way. Really good luck that oil was not spread all over the track. I anticipated another Moto2 incident.

Good racing. Championship race is tight.

Yeah I was a bit creeped out by that pic as well, but at least the medics had the decency to think of JT's privacy.
