RC211V VS M1

When Rossi was riding the RC211V i thought it was the best bike ever, then when he moved to the M1 i thought the M1 was the best bike.....

Now i dont know which is the better one, is it Rossi the one who makes the bikes better? or the bike who makes them (Nicky & Dani) better?

What are your thoughts?

Its pretty obvious that the RCV is the better all round bike with strengths in all areas, its made by honda, and honda have put WAY more money and R&D into the RCV than Yam have put into the M1.

I do believe Rossi and Burgess have made the M1 at least twice as better now though.

Yes the RCV is better. I love the letters HRC

na have to disagree there ron. take the rossmiester off the bike & it's..... well fighting midpack with kawasakis & suzukis.

So if Rossi were on a RC he would just run away with the championship, probably winning every single race...

I think the RCV has been the better bike always except last year. In 2005 I think they were even. This year, the M1 is better when not haunted by chattering problems.

Then i guess the only fair thing to do is to put Rossi on a Kawa or Suzuki to make the championship interesting.

well when someone besides rossi can win on the thing, i'll reconsider my position

i'd love to see this happen!

but i don't think he's that big of a gambler.

The RC211V has been the superior bike every season to the M1. Yamaha were miles behind in 2002 and even worse in 2003. Rossi and Burgess made Yamaha submit to their every wish to bring the M1 into the same realm as the 211V. In 2005 I think we saw the M1 as close as its ever been to the RCV and they were quite even. For 2006 I think the M1 is better than the 2005 spec RCV but I have a feeling once the bugs get sorted on the 2006 evo spec RCV that will give the edge back to Honda. To answer the original question, the rider is the most important piece of the puzzle. HRC nor anyone can argue otherwise anymore since Rossi left and won straight away on a still lagging M1.

Ok lets not take Rossi as an example for this RCV - M1 thing....lets have Mr Colin Edwards, in 2004 with a Honda RC211V he ended up 5th overall and in 2005 with the M1 he ended up 4th.

So i guess that in Colin's case the M1 was a better bike for him....

But the M1 had over one year's development from Rossi and Burgess. Take Marco Melandri for example, one year without a Rossi developed M1 and one year with a Rossi developed M1 and still was much better aboard the RCV.

ive said all along that honda is the best bike and im not changing on that, late 2002 season and sum parts of 2003 rossi was really deep into corners and going wide and the thought of a better handling bike into corners on a different line i think really excited rossi.. all this is my own feelings.. and im not saying the yam isnt a good bike cus when everythink is working right its a damm gud one..

The way I see it is like this: the M1`s got the handling, not the grunt, The Duc has the grunt but not the handling, The Kawa has the M1s grunt with the Ducs handling, the RCV has the M1`s handling with the Duc`s grunt, and the Suzi aint got .....
The RCV is still the better bike, but the M1 has definately improved since Rossi started riding it. Edwards wouldn`t have been able to take it to 5th overall if he didnt share a team with Rossi. Because with Burgess and Rossi calling the shots, and Yamaha kissin their ..... and giving them plenty of money to buy n bulid really good bits for the M1, the bike became better. If Rossi left, it would still be faster than the Kawas and Suzi`s, because like I said, Rossi`s time on the bike has improved it, even if he left now. but the RCVs would still be eating it alive.
