Qatar

It's ridiculous to blame Stoner for the end of Sete's career. May I remind you that Sete had already been in a bad state after the mess he made at Catalunya earlier in the year. After the Catalunya crash, docs REPLACED a plate in his shoulder which had been put in after a previous accident. And let's face it..Catalunya was pretty much caused by Sete. A riding accident, in no way deliberate or intentional. But that is racing after all. Catalunya buggered his shoulder up further. The crash with stoner was only the last in a long line of damaging falls. And once you're over 30 you just don't heal as well as when you're young. He retired gracefully to enjoy the good things in life. Good on him.

but i think he was tired of the pain... phisycal that is.

I think he was retiring ayway, he said himself that he didn't want to ride for money in a low level team and the ducati deal was over. I think he had decided to retire before portugal, and shame as it was i don't think it actually ended his career.

BTW, this was about speed, not?
Anyone else who think there was a distinct difference in the Ducati speedadvantage this year?
I mean, they've allways been fast on the straight but fairly equal to the others at the start of the straight but as speed increase the airodynamics come more into play. Together with a slight power advantage that transformed into a helthy speed advantage at the speedtrap. Similar to the Yamaha/Honda differnce was las weekend. Now the force a huge gap by pure power advantage right from the end of the turn. Non of the other bikes are not even close to stay in their draft. It really do look like they've kept the 990cc :)

Edit:
Could part of that difference be created by peaky Yamaha engine?

Tired of the ‘physical’ and psychological pain, plus very bad luck too, even the ambulance crashed getting Gibernau to the hospital, that was no curse, that was not some other rider sending you to the gravel… I cannot see other than pure bad luck!

He had great battles though…
