Wait a minute. I quite like it when some people are being made to feel unwelcome. This place went soft and when that happened everyone left. The mouthy types get what mouthy types deserve and that's part of the fun. I'll text Jum and see if I can get him over here to insult someone...

Not jumkie!!!

he got what he deserved!! ;)

My theory is not that it was the insults. They were quite funny. To me, it seemed like groupthink took over, that MotoGP was rigged in every detail, every achievement questioned, and it was all one great big conspiracy. Anyone who questioned that narrative was attacked mercilessly, and any facts which did not fit the accepted dogma were conveniently ignored. That created an air of negativity: MotoGP was rigged, and it sucked. When building a discussion forum around a particular sport, having the main topic of conversation being that the sport in question sucks makes for a deeply unappealing vibe to anyone but the most wide-eyed conspiracy nuts. PS became too much like the David Icke forums: hilarious, but deeply, deeply depressing.

To me, it felt like the narrative got hijacked by the inner circle. Having such voices as part of the narrative can be interesting, but having them dominate the conversation is just miserable.

Hopefully, this place will cheer up a little now, and become more active. But that does require some guidance, and positive input from the people who frequent the forum.

What intrigues me is just why gui22a is so obsessed with what I get right and wrong. I think he may have a crush on me...
I believe it had NOTHING to do with anything MGP related, conspiracies notwithstanding. Ownership, moderation, forensic investigation of members, commercial use, personal attacks outside the sphere of MGP conversation all played a role in the demise. All-encompassing conspiracy theories and OTT harsh banter were always part of the successful recipe (Michelin's SNSs - Nicky's championship - Stoner's first year) but the non-MGP stuff derailed the train.

Gui22a is so obsessed with anyone pissing on his beloved Ducati comeback, that he has forgotten the difference between speculation and fact.

That the Ducs appear to have turned a corner (ha - see what I did there?) is a very GOOD THING for MGP in general, so let's all applaud their efforts and look forward to what should be a very exciting season!!

*Sigh* Barry still trying to be funny, just ignore him. He still hasn't gone to the clinic to get the medicine to treat all the diseases he got shagging sheep (His sheep is called Ducati, which is what he meant when he said he could 'back it in' with no rear brake).

The field seems close, I really hope the Ducati has that pace over a race distance though I've given up on the production Honda altogether. IF the Ducati is for real, what's the bet Jorge want's to jump ship for 2016?

Anyone who thinks Ducati aren't competitive is clearly on drugs. The GP15 is really, really good. They are already this fast, and they have only just started to get the bike dialed in. I am really looking forward to the whinging from Honda and Yamaha about unfair advantage. Looking forward even more to 2016...

Keep in mind JLo and Gigi have worked together before.....I think JLo is definitely looking at the Ducati and thinking he wants one next year....but there wont be any seats open.....Unless one of the 2 factory Duc riders are on 1 year contracts.....

Does anyone remember how long Crazy Joe's and Dovi contracts are?

I must admit I am a bit surprised by ducati, but lets see how they do in a race. I posed this last year, I think Dovi and Iannone are both very good riders.

Total washout today....so no more input to bikes until first race in 2 weeks....

Last reports i read said Ducati didnt use the softer of their 2 tyres to set their times, but they still are not sure about being able to go race distance with those tyres....so either they need to build a huge lead from the start in the hopes of not falling back into the clutches of the other teams, or they need to hope Gigi can come up with answer to that question in less than 2 weeks from now....

The other scenario is that the bike will underperform a bit (because it's a brand new platform) in the short term to come good later in the season. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to expect the GP15 to lead straight away. Everyone knows this is a completely new machine. Frankly, I'm quite surprised by their pace but also respectful of the undertaking. This is still a project bike for Ducati as it's an unproven machine. They'll sort it out.

But let's recall, Ducati have done well with an unproven machine and rider at one point.

Personally, I believe Iannone possesses some of the innate quality that Stoner has. I think he will get that bike at the front for a few races and I'm excited to see that.

BTW - we should all get together SBK race at Laguna this year just for ol' times sake.

Absolutely, that'd work for me. Few hour drive works for me. I didn't realize you were in Berkeley. I moved to Cali about 7 months ago. North Bay...we're not far, gotta friend in Berkeley I meet in the city once in a while.

Hey Man, we already had one Jumkie. When he was great - he was really great. When he was being a vindictive jerk - not so much. Good folks are migrating back here and nobody should be made to feel unwelcome because their opinion is different than yours. I'm not a moderator or a net nanny - but like others - I would like to see this site flourish again.

Your honor may I admit this post into record. This particular post expresses concicely the chiding elitist attitude that christian, aka keshav, aka child prostitute serenader, aka ....... creep denies vehemently. This is a passive aggressive rebuke of Jumkies Powerslide persona. Its another, in a long long line of attempts to reprimand and reindoctrinate the member into "The Christian, aka child prostitute serenader, aka ....... creep, aka nutjob banging a drum at the airport, Powerslide etiquette doctrine.

Entertaining post but a bit harsh. Krops issue these days is trying to stay unique. I find you can read the same stuff on every other bike racing news site these days. Same info just churned in different words.

I do agree with your point that MotoGP ...... up because they had no idea what they were doing so let Honda call the shots. With .... racing and Stoner gone there was nothing worth arguing or bullshitting about and therefore this place died.

Kropo has a very simple view, that I happen to share: that a forum dedicated to a sport cannot function if the "dominant" idea becomes (or seems to become, thanks to a few very vocal preachers) that said sport is hopelessly rigged and basically flawed or 100% f***ed. Not much left to discuss, really...

That is what killed PS -- it's the same kind of conspiracy ideology that we find nowadays all over the internet on all possible subject, from politics to UFO to 9/11.
Reality is always more complex than any such theory, and a forum stays interesting only if people try to unravel the complexity related to that subject.

conspiracy theory, lol.

It happens that MotoMarcs goes more or less this way:

Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo Marc Marquez Rossi Yamaha Lorenzo.

Ducati Dovizioso Ianone.

Tech 3 Yamaha Tech 3 Yamaha Tech 3 Yamaha Tech 3 Yamaha .

Open Bikes Open Bikes Open Bikes.

End.

Next article is the same. Next, is the same. Next? The same. I have nothing against mr. Emmet, but his blog is only his diary, not a journalistic blog. And being the only american journalist in Ducati's presentation means nothing if you just don't know what to tell to your public. This new bike meant a must need come back to the sport, and only an ..... or a misinformed or an ill-intetioned one could doubt a company with such baggage in motorsports like Ducati. The fact is not conspiracy, is that DORNA does not know what to do to truly invoke the spirit of the brands, and so, we must have normalized bikes on the grid instead of unique ones, because we can't have a damn specific tire. And, in the end, kinds like mr. Emmet tell the public that Ducati don't know what to do and "is f***ed". Ah, oh yeah, right. This is incredible right. But it's not.

So it's not only the sport that's ...... up, it's "journalists" too. Honda is not God, japanese are no geniuses with extra terrestrial intelligence, they are normal people with influence, just that (btw there is not only japaneses in Honda). Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, Suzuki, Aprilia, BMW, etc., all could do well in MotoGP if there wasn't so much politics involved. It's not a matter of "capacity", it's a political matter only. Knowledge is more or less the same, all of this companies has money to bring talents, people come and go, from one company to another. No company owns talents nor knowledge, we live at the 2015 year, by the way, the information era. There is no such thing "wow Honda is incredible Ducati is ....". At most times, revolution comes from small companies, not the biggest ones. The biggest only buys the small companies and absorbs their technologies.

So it's not "this forum", public are tired of Honda/Yamaha thing in a general way.

Monopoly or duopoly may be boring but competition includes the possibility of someone dominating... I'm not "tired" of Honda and Yamaha, not in the least (probably I'm not the "public"). The sport of course needs more contenders and it's good that some new rules are making the development phase easier and shorter for Ducati, Suzuki, Aprilia, and possibly Kawasaki... I'd like also BMW... KTM...

So this famous political conspiracy is not all-powerful, even if it exists (and of course these things exist, because all these guys want to win very badly); but conspiracy theories attribute to these attempts at manipulation an omnipotence that they never possessed. Think that 2007 rules were pushed by Honda to make Pedrosa win... :)

well if its a conspiracy Honda will be wanting there money back . as at no point will they have ever fixed it for Dovi to be at the top of the time sheets in the final test . or did Ducati pay the weather mafia to bring the rain down .

Hi J4rn0. I couldnt help being drawn out for a post. Firstly I respect your opinions, but I cant help thinking of Jumkie sitting there and laughing his fat ... off about some of this, especially Krops crying about how Jumkie ruins respectable motogp forums and must therefore be eliminated, or at the very least banned, before we all get depressed. I now think of The Great Jumkie as the Morpheus of our time: he offers us the red pill or the blue pill, keep dreaming or wake up. Apparently too many have the chosen the blue pill that unplugs them from the MMotogp WWE matrix.

Look J4rn0 and Krops, Jumkie and his band of merry men have left PS for a while now. PS should have been reborn with a multitude of new happy members chatting away about motogp. But it hasn't been that way, in fact the opposite. It been dead.

But to actually think back about what else might contributed, for myself at least I remember at a press conference the best rider of the time called a big ........ on the state of motogp, said its not the sport he fell in love with, threw 10 million back into their faces and walked out. Is Stoner yet another misguided conspiracy theorist. Did Jumkie even get to him as well?

I must say I miss Jumkie... I never minded discussing with him, and his ideas were of course legitimate albeit mostly the fruit of his own fantasy... and some tequila! ;)
