OH and another "you heard it here first", which you prolly all know about already :D

The Marc VDS Team is going Suzuki next year. Stamp it, if you haven't yet ;)

It makes sense Zarco going to KTM in that he would retain the same crew from Tech 3 who will manage the effort. I would still prefer to see him on the Honda.

Would a satellite Suzuki still be subject to the same concession status as the factory team if the Factory loose their concessions through success?

As for the KTM, if I were Zarco I might give that one a swerve, however, as a fan of the sport, it would be interesting to see what a guy like Zarco could do on it. He has proven to be way more successful on the Tech 3 Yam than the current KTM riders were, so it would be a good yardstick.

I don't give credit to Dorna very readily, but 4 KTMs and 4 Suzukis on the grid sounds pretty good to me from where the grid was headed a few years back.

While I hate how Rossi-centric they have made the sport, the things they've done to get more competitive satellite machinery and more manufacturers on the grid and competitive are great. The parity we now see in the competition is better than ever before and has made the racing much better IMO.

Both the current KTM riders should get the boot, then either bring up Olivera or Binder to partner Zarco.

I'm disappointed with Zarco's choice. That bike is not good enough.

everyone acting like the KTM is a .... bike and will always be a .... bike... they are going to improve that bike, and it will be a podium contender. I do not think KTM is any worse at the current moment then Ducati was 4 years ago, and Ducati had better quality riders, KTM's current rider pairing is arguably the worst on the MotoGP grid.

The KTM isn’t a .... bike and they have a budget close or equal to HRC.
The problem is, no matter how deep your pockets are or how good the people are, it takes time to develop a championship winner. The last few hundredths are exponentially hard to conquer.

Zarco is a fast rider who deserves a fast bike out of the box. Not 18 months from now.
Going from decent satellite rides where you outperform your peers to a factory where you need to deliver results AND be fast could be a career killer. Which is why I mentioned Bradl before.

Maybe Zarco will prove me wrong and I hope he does. But it’s a risk he could have avoided IMO.

+1.

Winning is not just a question of raw talent. It's a question of psychology and momentum too. It's easy to fall into a downward spiral in this sport.

Actually, they do. Most of the money comes from Red Bull, though.

Don't know what planet you're, but Red Bull have financial problems, not major at the moment, but if they carry on the same route it will be. Its also known in a small way that KTM are looking for further sponsors on the world stage, ie international, not firms that are on the USA's .... list as Red Bull are.

I'm not a planet. I assume you mean "I don't know what planet you're on".

It seems that you are the new contender in the thick skull world championship, with #22 being the current titleholder.

That Red Bull are experiencing financial problems has not yet caused them to curb their astronomical MotoGP spending, so your post doesn't refute anything I've said.

Naturally, it may have that consequence if those problems continue.

riders are professionals, and they have major expenses at the top level, so the money and the perks matter... what were his options? did HRC make a real offer, or were they going to stick him on an LCR?

Yamaha is leaving him stranded, Ducati hinted that they were interested but they are having their own issues getting a deal done with Dovi, Suzuki is content with Rinns and eyeing Lorenzo, and Aprilia is well Aprilia. was there really another option???

You're right to identify that we don't really know his options. If (and only if) he had a proper Repsol offer (which seems to be the case), it'd be pretty mad to go to KTM from a sporting perspective.

Yes to the 1st sentence, no idea how it got chopped like that but it wasn't me.
As for the rest you are agreeing, Red Bull have financial problems and they won't go away if they keep spending like now.
