Potentially breaking Tech3 news

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BigAl @ Sep 3 2009, 02:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>LCR might be running 2 bikes for 2010 remember

RdP going to tech3 would be a smart move for him IMO. the satellite yamahas seem better prepped etc than the sat hondas.

I'm still not convinced that the Tech 3 bikes are all that. They started out the season great but have slowly faded while Honda's satelites have caught up if not past the Yams IMO. Edwards hasn't been saying good things about the bike since the engine rule went into affect.

If Hayate do stay around next year, running yamaha engines, anyone else see colin going there?
It would mean Tech3 get to keep JT and draft in Ben Spies as is highly rumoured. Colin and Yamaha get to carry on they're relationship, as I believe Yamaha are keen on keeping him. Hayate benefit from Colin's develop skills and everyones a winner.

Oh and I reckon Depuniet will stay at LCR, maybe joined by Vermeulen if they run a second bike, if not Chris will find his way back into a ten kate wsb seat.

Poncheral 50/50 on Toseland. Loves him for PR. Bent over backwards to give him every chance for success, and disappointed with results. Wants a reason to believe that his results will improve before signing him again.

"On paper, we'll have the same bike. We'll have the same crew. We'll have the same tires. We will have the same rider. So for all of us, we need to - not to be sure, because you're never sure, you're sure of nothing in the life - but at least have something that you can say, "Okay, this is going to be different, and this might be the thing that will help him to be stronger." Otherwise, what's the point?"

There's not a shred of arrogance about the man.A certain degree of arrogance is necessary to succeed as a racer, but my point was more that he seemed essentially certain that if Spies came, he'd be in. His results don't justify that sort of confidence, and there was no talk of working to elevate them. It wasn't that he was acting arrogant, it was the degree of confidence that he displayed that his mediocre results + his passport could keep him employed.

I heard that in his interview too. He's always struck me as quite down to earth but that interview was definitely as you described.

So who's going to be CE's teammate in 2010? Vermeulen or de Puniet?

What Toseland actually said was that Tech3 was the only team he was talking to, i.e. it was his only option as no other team had shown interest. He never said it was a done deal.

Deserves got nothing to do with it! {Clint Eastwood}

If Haga wins it,so be it, but he deserves nothing.

I agree, being as he was cruelly denied by that ridiculous penalty in 2000. But I lost a great deal of respect for Nori after Donington last year when he behaved like a complete tool

That's not the interview that we've been talking about. We were talking about what he said pre-race on the grid.
