<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TP70 @ Oct 17 2008, 11:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Another factor will be Ducati's motivation for Nicky to succeed. Not that they didn't want Loris or Marco to suceed but the number of riders who have struggled on the Duke must be a worry. If Nicky struggles they are going to have to rethink the design of their bike for future years.

I think Ducati will be the team to beat in 2009. I don't mind which rider comes out on top because I think they are both great. Being Aussie I guess I have a preference for Casey to win.

If you were going to sit down and have a beer with any of the riders then of course Rossi would be your first pick but Nicky would have to be your second.
speak for yourself mate. id rather have a beer with colin edwards myself .

Roger,

It would be too hard to resist paying him out for never winning a race!!!

No just joking he would be pretty cool too. One thing about Americans - they are easy to have a good yarn with!

How about another question ...... How do you think Hayden will go with the Ducati Team dynamics/family?

I'm thinking that this is one aspect that has really suited Stoner and I believe has got to be better for Hayden than the Puig garage has been.

I feel that any camp other than the Puig camp will benefit any of the riders. Nicky is really lucky to be breaking free of it and as you say the Ducati Team is a family team and Nicky will fit right in

On the other hand I hope Dovi can keep focused and not let the devious little runt that is Puig upset his season. I also hope he obliterates Dani next season and both Honda and Repsol wake up, sack the two ..... and Dovi is the #1 rider for 2010

Well, think about this for a moment. At Repsol, Puig is the drunken child abuser parent and at Ducati, they are the nurturing welcoming family unit. I think this will be a plus. I mean how can it be bad right?

As has been said, Stoner and Hayden come from similar values and background.

Having said that, no matter how well everybody gets along, the bike won't ride itself, so we will have to wait and see. Hayden did say that he would know right away if he can get along with the machine after some testing. So it will be interesting.

It is very exciting for the Hayden camp I would guess cause Nicky is out of the Puig ......... I also think that what was said about the backgrounds of both Nicky and Stoner being similar is true. the Family sence is a good thing. Look what Stoner is doing for some of the young guys and they are American. That is awesome. I can easily see Nicky doing much of the same. The other thing we have to look at is the fact that the Team sence is going to have more of a meaning than before. As far as the Honda camp goes it is going to be VERY intresting cause I believe that Dovi is going to be better overall. Pedrosa is making excuses right now about changing his style a bit. WTF? The tire changes don't make you change style THAT much. .... he should really have to do less since the Michelins were so bad if you think about it. Like it or not Pinky you have Hayden on Stoners team and you really should be happy about that. HE doesn't have the ego issues most of everyone else would bring. He will help Stoner win if he needs it to lock up the championship towards the end of next year. Likewise I believe Stoner would do the same for Nicky. I think at this point it is going to be based on Nicky getting on with the Duc.

Well apart from the slightly mild over-exaggeration ........

........ things have not been good for Hayden with Puig around.

....... But it would be more useful to hear a bit more ...... considered argument than "the child bashing child abuser stuff" ....... obviously it hasn't much logic too it if at one moment you are all caiming Pedrosa is a midget or a toddler ....... and we know Puig certainly has Pedrosa's interests at heart ..... perhaps too much at times

Guys I just figured it out. 27 isnt Pinky he is Alberto PUIG attempting to spread his assholeness across the boards. What a prick.

I voted no purely on the fact that no one but Stoner has been able to get the results with that bike and now everything is too much built around his idea's and knowledge of the bike.

What is funny about that is that it wasn't that way until after Melandri failed on it. Casey could ride to their design philosophy but even on this board senior posters were giving the 2008 Championship to Melandri . His dismal season put the "it's the bike" to rest Melandri prediction and when they wheeled out the Carbon framed bike they tiptoed around Casey for what was really the first time since he has been on the team.

I mean, he is a world champion on a base 1.5 million contract (they spewed about the 500k or whatever it was per race win bonus though) and they paid Melandri 3 million.

The bike is built around Casey now but it wasn't previously.

I'm still betting that the dirt tracker background will bless Nicki and give him a few wins, mostly a run of podiums though.

Control tire next year, so all of that is out the window.

If you believe they haven't already taken a stab at a control tire.

Hmmmm...............Vale and Casey both run the same front (Verme and Capi are supposed to follow suit). At the beginning of this year both of them were working feverishly to find tire solutions. Allegedly it was Michelin's front tire that Casey couldn't use. Apparently, Bridgestone built something that he liked and he used it to win races by double digit margins. After Qatar his regular tires made a mysterious disappearance. He wasn't happy again until after LeMans when Bridgestone provided him with a new REAR tire. At LeMans Bridgestone were only testing rear tires during the race.

When asked about the control tire, Burgess goes on and on about how Doohan used to be able to ride tires that no one else on the grid could ride.

Hmmmmm..............what does it all mean.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (#27 @ Oct 16 2008, 09:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>hayden is in the same league with gardner and schwantz

Hey Pinky....you make it sound bad to be put in the same catagory as Gardner and Schwantz?
I dont know how many GPs Schwantz won, but Gardner won 18 races and 1 world title, finished second in 1986, and won in 1987at a time when the Premier clas was at its peak regarding quality of its riders like Lawson, Rainey,Schwantz,Mamola,Spencer.
You have a go at Andy Roo cos you think he aint Patriotic enough to be a Stoner fan, and yet weres your Patriotic duty to Aus, by downgrading Gardners acheivements?
All Americans should have a go as well for getting into Schwantz and Hayden..
