And if Mladin was there,he would probably be sitting a couple of hundreths back in second and everyone would realize why AMA has been a Yosh fest for the last decade.

Maladin and Ben trade off but are usually within a few hundreths of each other. I would expect them to be very close if not Maladin in front. Isn't he Australian

The race isn't over yet, i'm sure he will be super happy if Ben doesn't win.

I still think if Ben gets top five in his rookie year it will be an amazing acheivement. Remember Lorenzo got pole last year in his first race. But hell, whose comparing SBK to MGP? It's much tougher when it's an even playing field and no one gets preferential treatment from the organizers

BTW Bayliss is awesome and all but he sure looked pathetic in that 2 sizes too small Ducati shirt. Is that the style now? Or is that his bi-cycle gear

Also, on JustinTV, so will I need to create account and log on then click on this guy's channel?

Taken from Wikipedia. Basically you are opening up a port on your computer and whomever is running the proxy can monitor or copy the information past.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>The bottom line of this is to be wary when using anonymising proxy servers, and only use proxy servers of known integrity (e.g., the owner is known and trusted, has a clear privacy policy, etc.), and never use proxy servers of unknown integrity. If there is no choice but to use unknown proxy servers, do not pass any private information (unless it is over an encrypted connection) through the proxy.

For JustinTv, you don't need to create an account unless you want to get into the chat box, then you will need a login. I like the chat, although I think Azoto puts a one comment per minute limit, while the race is going on if it gets out of control.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SackWack @ Feb 28 2009, 12:01 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>The race isn't over yet

True, regardless though. Its a new track, new rig, new show, against some top staff. That's gotta at least get you an 'ataboy' from a resident Yanky hatter.

And Povol, though this is an entirely different game and sanctioning body, not to be mistaken with the clowns that ran/run AMA...yes, it sure does seem there is credence to the argument that Spies/Mladin were head & shoulders above the rest; except, there is no point of reference here. Now if you put Tommy, Roger, Hacking, Bostrom, etc on some similar rigs in WSBK, then we could really know. Would you agree? Either way, Spies kicked ... today and we both know he was the real deal in the AMA. But as Sacky said, a pole a race does not make, so we'll have to wait. Here's hoping he doesn't burn up his tires like Bayliss did that one time and get passed by in the last stages of the race. Spies has alot to deal with, tire ware is something that he hasn't really had much time to figure out, though Haga, Max, & co have in the bag.

Even if he nabs a top 5, I don't expect the Ambiguous Anarchist to come correct.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SackWack @ Feb 28 2009, 12:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I am lazy, jum what time is the race on our time?
SPEED: Race 1 at 1pm. (btw, they will have sx after that). Uhm, Race 2 will be Tuesday! Yeah, ....... eh.

thanks for the slideshow, frizzle!

what is up with the lack of Kawasaki in the Supersport? Is this also part of their parring down on racing? Man, the ZX6R (at least here in the states) is a great racing platform.....bummed to see them (Kawi) out of racing almost entirely....they could pay me ALOT less and I will run a 10R for them!!! ...., even a 6R.....oh well.....can't wait for race on Sunday and Teusday (broadcast here in the states)....have the DVR set to record both races......

Lascorz rdies Kawasaki, and in testing his times weren't bad

I did notice that....but 1 out of 30? I am going to guess that is not a factory ride....correct?

I'm unclear about the level of factory input with any of the supersport teams

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Feb 28 2009, 03:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Wow, so much for wait and see approach. First turn melee anyone?

Let me see:

20 riders withing a second.
All 7 Brands represented in that second.
A mix of superbike champions and a few MotoGP classman.
Four race before MotoGP sets foot into season.
A championship up for grabs between vets and rookies alike.
Riders from several nations with an actual chance to win a title.
An actual manufactures constructors championship that means something.

Holy .... batman! If its not the premiere, is very close. Good on ya Falamini bros, your smart decisions are paying off. Lesson: Dorna executives to learn that putting the parity in competition first is the key; and NOT the preferential treatment, backroom deals, fake ... reasons for rules changes, political strong arming of series providers, ie Bstone, is the wrong answer.

Close combat smack down; but it will come down to a war of attrition! Can't wait!

Take care of them tires Spies!

You heard it hear first, ELBOWS FOR THE WIN!

LOL. It's not really directed at you Junkie, but I had to have a laugh. About 4 to 8 years ago thousands of angry people where screaming the same accusations at the flammini brothers.
The interesting part is that from there on it has been going the right way, which also means that under that time they must have done som of the right things. What I mean is that only when you start doing the right things you hit the bottom and start the way up again.
Wonder when Dorna hit the bottom.

I wasn't sure either.....should be a great year of racing in both series, though....just I am going to miss Kawi not putting forth their best effort.....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SackWack @ Feb 28 2009, 01:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Thirdly, I am not sure why we can't view it. Maybe it has something to do with bandwidth flooding or something. I rewatched all the superbike races from last year no problem. Maybe give it a day and they will broaded access?? Not sure.

Me thinks it has to do with an agreement between WorldSBK and SpeedTV, who have bought the rights to air the races in the states. If this is true, it sucks for those of us who have ditched their dish/cable and gone stone age with an antenna. I get 17 HD channels OTA(over the air), but obviously NO Speedtv.

I've tried the proxy maneuver this morning, no worky.

Gonna get real pissy tonight if I can't watch these races live.

So, did anyone have any success? I have family that popped in unexpectedly so my weekend is kinda mixed up.

BTW Thanks guys for all the help!

So I've looked for a schedule and am struggling to find anything. What time do the races start? I'm trying to sort it out so I can attempt to watch it live. Too much drink and company may prevent this from happening. Thanks in advance for the help.

Race one starts at 2:00 pm CET (Central European Time) and Race two starts at 5:00 pm CET or they start at 8 am ET and 11 am ET.

I am using this to find times this season. No more using the old fingers and brain this year.

That was my point.I have always contended that AMA racing was ...... up because Mladin and Spies were just so much better, not a rules package and unobtanium pieces. I agree and disagree that there is no point of reference. In bike racing when a guy proves he can run with another, virtually splitting wins of every race the last 3 years, that is a point of reference. The tracks would be the wild card in this equation. The one track that Mladin struggles on is MMP, the one track in America that is more European in nature. His style seems to favor the stop and go,point and shoot tracks over the fast flowing tracks.Im not sure what putting Bostrom,Hayden and company, would prove except that they would be the same 1 1/2 to 2 seconds a lap slower than Spies and towards the tail end of the grid, instead 3-6 like they were in AMA.
