.............and butter wouldn't melt Tom.

Look, if somebody wants to come to me and tell me 'how dissappointed they are in me'...... start to belittle me, on a public forum, then please do expect a backlash.

Let me quote him....from the Lewis Hamilton thread............
"I was disappointed to read this post by you Burky, it is not how i expected you to react. I am not at all bothered by people reaching the conclusion that Fernando did act in an unsporting manor (even though i disagree), but you make an example of the fact that you have ignored evidence supplied to you and jumped to a conclusion to supports your prejudice. I thought you were more reasonable than that"

Here's the link........

http://www.motogpforum.com/forum/index.php...ic=2888&st=1060

This comment was made to me by a lad some 20 years my junior, who most certainly wouldn't speak like that to my face. By all means disagree, but don't go telling me your 'disappointed' in me, nor tell me I'm prejudice. Please don't go speaking to me like a worldly wise individual, which quite obviously you are not! If you wish me to further embarrass him, I shall find the threads that prove my point.
I found your comments Tom unnecessary,.......and insulting, but I didn't go crying to anybody. I sat it out and took my compliments from others with grace, and let the arguement, and the truth for that matter, become the topic of conversation.

Suddenly I have Phil, Phleg, and the Captain 'telling me off'!!! Oooh, I'm scared, but read through the threads my friendly Forum Police and recognise that, in the real world, I'm the equivalent of the friendly bloke in the pub who ribs the youngsters in jest. If they can't take it, then get out of the pub!!!!!!!!!!

Phleg, you're 17,......Phil, you are 16,.........who the hell are you to speak to me in such a manner? I'm guessing my 'quip' hits home hard with you two boys also!!!!! Get over it, your day will come, as it did with all of us.

I can only assume complaints were made to Matron, so once again the Captain has to intervene. Well, no need Captain, Jumkie says it all.

Is there a link on this forum for skin growth?

Continue the spinning…..
Grow skin!
Grow skin!
Wittiness my friend, combined with skin growth is a beautiful thing.

Thanks man, a wise man at that.

I'm here to provide hugs if anybody needs them. Tom? Phleg? Phil? Burky? Cap? I'm in the hugging mood. Group Hug anyone?

What, like Portugal 2006!

<
What, like that one time?

Pedrosa has it to become a MotoGP champion clearly. Last year proved that he has the potential, but don't forget that he was completely new to that class, bike etc. This year, we all know that Honda have got it bad

The arguement was,......could DP win a Moto GP world title?

Well, that opportunity doesn't come along very often. That 'one time' in Portugal, is the only time so far, and he blew it. In fact he blew it so bad, he nearly blew it for his team mate also.

We are not talking about taking the odd race win here, nor taking regular top positions. We are talking about having the wherewithall to actually take the title should the opportunity arise. Dani has had that opportunity, and ended up trudging through the gravel.

As for DP being the next Biaggi, the topic of the thread, well quite probably in Moto GP.

1.This comment was made to me by a lad some 20 years my junior, who most certainly wouldn't speak like that to my face.

Why does his age matter? Or that he would 'say it to your face'? Are you insinuating he'd threaten to attack you with his words?

I have no quarrel in your personal relationship (It sounded gay but that's what it is in the end!), but please, air it out in private ladies. PM and MSN are wonderful thing.

Well this forum is the eqiuvalent of a Northern Scottish pub, we don't take kindly to insults.

4. "If they can't take it, then get out of the pub!!!!!!!!!!"

I won't leave the pub because I dislike the smelly old farts in the corner, I'll kindly inhabit another part of the pub, or kindly air my opinons to them.

BTW, up until now I have tried to be cordial and humuorus (sp?), if anyone is offended by what I have said, listen to the fat landlady's phrase:

"Grow some skin!"

5. Phleg, you're 17,......Phil, you are 16,.........who the hell are you to speak to me in such a manner? I'm guessing my 'quip' hits home hard with you two boys also!!!!!

That is one of the most patronising thing's I've probably read addressed to me on the interweb... So what if I'm 17? I'll speak to you however I so desire or feel necessary to, you're age is no matter to me, I don't subscribe to the theory that you automatically respect your elders. Just because don't have as many wrinkles on my face, don't assume I am not as 'wise as you', please/

Respect is earnt, not a given. Don't ever assume with anyone it is another way.

6. Grow some skin!

I understand you both have become 'bestest buddies' since the Laguna NASCAR race, but don't assume that members don't have a thick enough skin as they dare to disagree with you.

Remember, smileys go a long way on a forum, wisecracks are interpreted differently, and each person analyzes every word differently.

This comedy bitching stops here please.........................back on topic now huh?

If people continue, their post's will be delelted and the member sinbinned for a couple of days!

No, last year, it was okay that he made mistakes and didn't win, because after all, it was his rookie season. But the incident with Hayden last year hasn't ended his career. One mistake that ended up to be nothing in the end because Hayden still won the championship. He will have many opportunities to win the world title in my opinion.

Sorry Dave, you're in the sin bin

I don't think he can do it, he had a good rookie year, but he hasn't really impressed this year.
I know he's won a race this year, but that was from the front, he just doesn't look like he's prepared to fight it out when he's mid pack.
I admit, I'm not a huge fan of his, but after last year, I was expecting a bit more fire.

I think Biaggi and Pedrosa are very different because Biaggi was every bit the rider for the title but got beaten in his head. Pedrosa has the mental strength to go all the way and his shortfall (if any) is his riding, he might just not be able to ride the bike fast enough

;D

Oh c'mon, that was so easy to use against him!

Damnit Phleg, beat me to it!

Dani's got the speed, we've seen that when he pulls away at the front of the pack. I think its the confidence he lacks. Whether in the bigger bikes or in his riding I don't know, but he just doesn't get involved in scraps, like he's afraid to fall off or DNF. I know tactical riding is sometimes a necessity (as much as I dislike it), but Dani just seems to never risk anything.

I have no doubts Dani will win a MotoGP championship.

Me too.

Dani seems to have a clever enough head on his shoulders, at I think it's only a matter of time before he catches up on the brakes.

Yeah, a year and half is a long time, but remember what he's getting used to.

IR had it right, he never seems to throw 'the kitchen sink' at it, or go for a big balls move, Estoril maybe, but we've seen that's totally out of character, rush of blood maybe?

Is there and Over-Sensitive Bin?

Jeez.

What movie is this from?

'Teacher teacher, Sally looked at me funny'. Teacher: 'Then laugh you ..... and go back out to play'.

Maybe I should create an "always whinging at the moderation bin" and slap you're ... straight in it?

Sensitive?

Hey, I'm hurt. If I cry foul, who will come to my aid?

Oh, crap, only God can moderate you.

Dude, I get it man, its all good. Funny thing is Ben, that the moderation may need some moderating.

That is to say, what this really means: Moderate—not great or severe, not excessive or unreasonable, not extreme or unreasonable.

I’ll take it you want to discuss it here, so this is what I think:

However, it seems many times mods only side with the member squealing foul, when in reality its not a foul at all but simple banter. It’s getting to a point were the pendulum has swung so far over to the ultra-sensitive that its like walking on rice paper and trying not to leave a print. Shouldn’t the easily-upset-thin-skinned people also take some responsibility? People can’t disagree without thinking, oh no, are we gonna be edited or reprimanded. Then come out the ignore button discussion, but nobody seems to be able to use good old common sense and just skip. I understand you want to keep the peace; however, there is something to say for dynamic and rich discussion without censure. Oh, well, maybe I’m being idealistic of what forums are supposed to be. I guess I should get back in line with the zombies. I think I’ll listen to the song by John ‘Cougar’ Melloncamp: I fight authority, authority always wins.

It’s your world, well at least here.

Or we can discuss it privately, if you like. Or we can just let it go here, I’ve said my peace, and move on.

Keep up the good work Ben. Oh, and the always under-appreciated moderation team. Its a thankless job, but somebody has to do it.

No Racer what Mr Pedrobot reminds me of is “The classic Repsol phenomenon”...you know it happened in the past...with Doohan & Carville at Phillip Island!!!...No Team Rules!!!???...
Pedrobot’s take out of the future world champ (who btw could have lost the w/c’p because of that!!! anfd it was very lucky for Mr. Pedrobot that Nicky Hayden “didn’t”)...it’s the same as Mr. Carville taking out Mr. Doohan...This must run in the Repsol team!!!
Pedrobot has nothing on Mr. Biaggi!!...Max was a much more aggressive and determined rider then Pedrobot...be it in the 250cc’s or 500’s or motoGP!!!
