Pedrosa the next Biaggi???

i was expecting more from asimo this season. im no longer sure he will win a wc but with things in racing changing all the time i dont think any rider will dominate like doohan and rossi have, so he is in with a chance .
personally i think biaggi was better then pedrosa.

Yup, I'd agree. Unfortunately, I think it will take one or two more years of Peders showing he's a sissy with the big boys before Hayden gets any love at Repsol (if ever the Spanish can swallow their pride and give Hayden a real chance to show what he can do as somebody's number one rider--which has never happened for him yet in MotoGP.)

I had a dream the other day, it was the creation of an American team by Jordan using the Ducati/Bstone platform with Hayden and Hopkins. But then I woke up, errr.

I disagree based on the fact that Dani is a 3 time world champion and the most consistent front running rider so far this year. He knows what it takes.

Well of course to disagree with me has become common practice for you nowadays Tom, but if you had read the thread properly we are talking about Moto GP now! Because we are talking Moto GP rather than the smaller bikes, then my point is valid and yours irrelevent. Angel Nieto was a rocketship on the smaller machinery, and in the 'olden days' 125 and 250 World Champs were highly regarded for their achievements, without the pressure of moving up to the 'big' class to prove their worth.

There is no doubt that Dani is super fast, but I truly believe he isn't 'big' enough! I'm not being 'smallist', I'm only a little chap myself, but when it comes to toughing it out with the other guys he simply doesn't have that ability. I would have preferred to see him stay in the 250s and forgotten the hype, then maybe he could have pissed on old Golden Boots fire!!! But then again, maybe not!!!

Hence, Dani will never be Moto GP Champion.

Have you discovered beer or girls Tom, I'm intrigued to know which one!!!

I've been saying this for the last 3 years...all small class talent and no big class talent...
the hobbit will never win the motogp title...and he will become as frustrated and mean spirited as Biaggi...

that's because he isn't a nr 1 rider - he's a points collector, but not a winner and that's what makes a real nr 1

Dani may not have the right staure for ultimate speed on the big bikes, and this is a particular issue when hes trying to outbrake other riders but i will re-state that he clearly knows how to put a championship runs together, and has shown us he can deal with the mental strains that come with that.

Bit out of order there Burky.

For me, it's clear Dani has the potential as he wouldn't be on a FACTORY Honda ride if they didn't think he was good enough, let's remember these guys know their stuff and he's had 1 and half seasons and it's been on 2 different bikes.

No it isn't, it's my opinion through what I have seen! In 2006 and 2007 he has had quite possibly his best opportunities, but hasn't come up with the results required to even be in the mix at the end of the year. When he was in with a vague shout last year, well, we all know what happened!

You know, I remember the years when 125s, 250s, and even 350s had their own kudos. It's a shame that the Moto GP class is seen as the one and only all important division, because history shows some legendary champions in the smaller classes that never progressed into 500s.

As I have said, Dani is undoubtedly super talented, but it is like expecting Barry McGuigan to take on Frank Bruno! Barry may get a few punches in, but come the end of the fight Frank would be victorious, know what I mean Harry!

What, like Portugal 2006!

to be fair to Assimo - you can hardly say that he's had a great opportunity this year and he was after all a rookie in 2006. the honda isn't that great and all things considered - he has put up some good results. i entirely agree that Dani's build is a disavantage tho. he can brake as hard and as late as anyone but he can't keep the back wheel on the ground so it's putting even more pressure on his arms. if he was built like JT he might be able to do that lap after lap........ but he isn't - he's built like a girl

going off topic here but i don't think Hayden will ever get the respect he deserves (yes he does) while he shares a garage with Dani. Honda thought Dani would be the ultimate 800cc pilot and NOTHING will change their mind. Nicky should leave after 2008 for the best ride he can get.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rising Sun @ Aug 25 2007, 10:47 AM) <div class='quotemain'>If Stoner can go from the gravel to the top of the championship in one off-season, there's no reason why Pedrosa can't overcome his deficiencies for 2008. That's it, who knows? Stating with even the slightest of conviction that he'll become bitter like Biaggi or catergorically that he'll never win the title seems foolish to me.

Dani has excelled in every category he's raced, he's the best Honda rider BY FAR, totally anihilating his world champion teammate, hasn't crashed in any race and IMO he's done his job as best as it could be done, it's up to Michelin and Honda to step up.

Racejumkie blaming Repsol for Hayden's poor results is pathetic, the team is run by Honda and Repsol have no say whatsoever in the team. Which was proven when they demanded Honda to put Gibernau in the team and Honda told them they would put Barros and if they didn't like it, they could go elsewhere.

Congratulations for finding an example of a human making a mistake. Every rider has done so, and rookies are obviously more prone to this. Dani's rookie season is one of the best in history and there is overwealming evidence from his career to support my claim compared to the odd race you thought of to support yours.

i dont believe in the honda anti hayden line myself but as far as dani goes, he doesnt crash because he doesn't push the limits and that's why i believe he doesn't win races. how can you no yours and the bike/tyres limits until you have stepped over them. stoner found the limits last season and now he is winning. rossi found his limits in 2000 then went on to be a winner. biaggi was always on the limit which is one reason why i think he is better than asimo.just my opinion.

I have questioned your conduct on the forum, and you may or may not take offence to that, but i don't set out to offen anybody and comments like yours (if you really feel the need to voice them) should be dealt with in the lounge or in private.

keep all the insults to yourselves and take care of them privately.

or just ignore each other.

just keep them off of the threads and outside the eye of the general public.

Is there a link on this forum for skin growth?

Dani is overrated. To say he (Peders) beat his teammate if funny considering only one on that team has a world championship.

As far as the Hayden line. I already posted what Repsol and the Honda bosses think, if you choose to ignore the very words and sentiments coming from these people like Teo and Roger, than all I can suggest is to extricate your head from the sand. Its not a mystery guys. If you say it to yourself often enough, doesn't make it true. I suppose now when I repost quotes from Repsol and the Honda boss about Dani being the only reason their in it, or them designing the bike around him, you will spin it to your liking, right? Well I already posted it, go find it if you really want the truth, I don’t have the time nor the energy to try to convince, those not willing to do their homework and find the reality. Haha, that is both funny and pathetic. BTW, there is a difference between an “opinion” and “fact”. I can post an opinion, and surely you can disagree, no problem, but facts are facts. The only thing left to do if you don’t like a fact is to spin.

Continue the spinning…..
