My boss was out on our gsxr1000k7 demo bike on sunday when he was involved in a head on smash with a hire car being driven the wrong way up a one way street. He has badly broken his left forearm which will need a bone graft as there is now half an inch of bone missing. And all this just 3 weeks since our 1098 was written off.
This is how the gsxr was delivered back to us;

...... moronic car drivers!!! hope ur boss will be ok.

I've just found out he's made the front page of our local newspaper today.

It's blaming vandals for removing the no entry sign and throwing it over a nearby cliff. Interestingly some parish officials went down to investigate and found 3 more no entry signs that had previously been stolen from the same place. No word as to what's happening to the car driver although she can't really be blamed what with her not knowing it was a one way road.

Considering the state of the bike, your boss may have gotten off better than would be expected. A co-worker asked me the question "how do you keep from getting killed by car drivers everyday" (I ride everyday)? I told him A. I expect that no matter what I do that no one in a car will look for me much less see me, and B. I take the attitude that everyone in a car has been paid to kill me. Armed with this attitude I still take care to avoid certain places at certain times of the day. Hope your boss has a swift and complication free recovery.

I'm glad he was ok mate.

Its pictures like this that really make you think about taking teh bike out. I mean, as Ogunski says you need the attitude that all moving vehicles are out to get us.

What speeds where they doing?

How often do people get over a ton when on their bikes.............I know I do quite alot, in fact its pretty hard not too...........lights out if you hit something at that speed.

I really do think sometimes if its worth having a road bike.......theres too many muppets on teh road and way too many tractors that pull out on me. I was just two streets away from home today, when a woman didnt see me and had to do an emergency stop...........beggars belief.

Anyone else ever think of getting rid? As much as I love my biking, I also love my life............and I also love speed, I just cant stick to a reasonable speed anywhere.......as soon as I see the national speed limit sign - its like I have to screw the bike as much as I can.
