Lent to someone who lent it to someone else who lost control and hit the only tree within 100 metres. Bike burst into flames when the fuel tank hit the tree, frame snapped, engine split open, swingarm snapped rider had a broken leg and arm but is recovering well. This was 3 weeks before our GSXR crash but I've only just decided to put the pictures up as I've just seen them elsewhere on the net.

Maybe we need to have a sticky thread titled BIKE MORGUE..

I can't stand to see blood and guts of the human body, but a wasted bike just amazes me.

Maybe the bike has reliability issues. Perhas you should check it out to see if they have issued a recall on bursting tanks and all, eh?

You know too much!
Ours had all the recalls done.
It was rider stupidity.

I'm not sure if you got my take, I was making a joke. Obviously it was rider stupidity.

I thought you'd heard about the fuel line recall. Bloody Italians!

Ha-ha, yeah I know. I own two Ducatis. I'm thinking of getting the 1098 but I don't think they got the bugs worked out. Plus I would have to sell my current bikes to afford it. My 748 lost some valves and had to rebuilt the entire engine, outch. My 03 749 was recalled a few times and had some problems with the sensors and such. They are beautiful but like women, they are expensive and high maintenance.
