Don't be so sure on Hofmann's departure from the team as a full time rider. Kawasaki has been preaching their increased presence and involvement in MotoGP since they announced Jacque would be testing their 2006 spec machine and have two wild card rides. If they want to have a larger presence then why not run three riders? I know the funds may not be there right now and you need an exception to the two grid slot rules from Dorna but with the promising results they've had a title sponsor can't be too far off and the exceptions from Dorna are more than attainable. Look at Team KR KTM, D'Antin Ducati, and Konica Minolta Honda and keep in mind Honda did it in 2003 with the Pramac Honda bike. There are ways around these things. If Kawasaki is really interested in having a larger presence in MotoGP the way they say they are, I think they will field three riders next season.

oj is a wee bit overated but thats only my own view, another rider who sits in 7th or 10th and well thats it... dont get me wrong i respect them all,
