It's an epic, but if you want to know how fuel computers and traction control work, you'll read it. Good stuff starts on page 3.

How dare someone say that it may not have been Lorenzo's brilliance that won him the race. Have Noyes arrested and taken out to be flogged.

"There are three ways to explain the fade over the last five laps by Pedrosa: 1. A fuel level sensor malfunction sent the electronics into 'safety' mode. 2: Dani choked under pressure from Lorenzo. 3. There was another problem (tires, engine, etc.)".

I'll take answer Number (2). Has happened before that Pedrosa cannot handle pressure. And it all happened just when Lorenzo came to second; I think Pedrosa was comfortable thinking Rossi was not able to bit him because of his injury, but as soon as 'Lorenzo's Now Behind You!' appeared on his pit board, Pedrosa cracked, and Honda are being benevolent as they have been with Pedrosa so many times before. It's never Pedrosa's fault… For the last five Seasons!

It's possible Pedrosa cracked, but I'm not so sure. I think they were almost out of fuel and don't buy into the faulty sensor explanation.

If Honda cite a faulty sensor, but Pedrosa says he had enough fuel, maybe the bike went into safety mode but never came out of safety mode.

I don't think Dani choked at all. He had no pressure whatsoever until the last few laps, but his pace had been getting worse since half-distance. I think it could have been a combination of #1 and #3. The bike went into safety mode too early and never returned to normal operating which caused Dani to wear out the rear tire.

Some speculate that he got tired. Weren't all Dani's race wins, run from the front victories. I don't see him a choke artist once he has finds his rythm at the front.

On another note, the 800 cc formula is perfect for him actually. Barring this year, we haven't seen any battles at the front, and we all know Dani can't battle. Also, he does quite well when out front and he usually gets the hole shot and a quick lead. He is great on fuel because of his lighter weight. Etc... I still can't find out why he hasn't won it yet.

Probably because you are wrong. Dani can battle, anyone who watched his 3 consecutive world titles knows that. It's becoming increasingly obvious that motogp is far from perfect for him, the bigger and heavier riders get far more out of their bikes than he can.

You would agree that Dani can't put up a fight in the current formula? There is no doubt about his talents in the lower formulas.

Maybe tc could finally be making the racing interesting.......

Visually it was apparent that both dani and rossi were spinning up a storm at the end, while jl looked spot on. Whatever the reason for this cause the outcome of the race, I doubt anyone will really know.

I was thinking the same thing. What does Rossi have to say about this? We need less fuel so we can't run TC?

Anyway, I resent that MotoGP is becoming two-wheeled Group C Prototype racing. Something must be done even if TC and fuel efficiency adds an interesting dimension. When the bikes take to the track, the sport needs to rest in the hands of the riders.

Ahhh....so Lorenzo only wins because of TC. Just so you are consistent, can you please rubbish him to the same degree you did Stoner when you thought he only won because of TC. Funny how Stoner now has too much traction and is having trouble. Can't work out how you will work that into your ongoing hypothesis but I am sure you will.

Yes i'll agree that in the formula you are claiming is perefect for Dani, he struggles to put up a fight for the reasons i already mentioned.

missed the point again.....groundhog day

traction control did make the race interesting, because Dani's seemed to stop working like it should

Nowadays TC is being used by all to higher levels, not too mention all the other gizmos on these things. Rossi had rear end grip issues all weekend, pedders issues became very apparent towards the end of the race......whether it be set up, tc, tyre wear etc. JL didn't seem to have problems like the others which means (in this day and age) that he and his team did a great job. After three years in the top class on a top bike it's what I expect from jl.

The TC debate around Stoner is well in the past, with his championship win.
