To be fair, it could have been a lot worse

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>World champion Nicky Hayden sustained torn cartilage in his rib cage in his violent accident near the end of today's French Grand Prix.

The Repsol Honda rider was heading for fourth place - his best result so far in 2007 - when he lost control under heavy braking and slid into a gravel trap at high speed.

Hayden was thrown from the bike as it violently barrel-rolled, but was able to stand up and walk away unaided.

Autosport.com understands that Hayden has already decided that in light of his injury it will be too risky to participate in tomorrow's test if the weather remains wet.

Of course it can!! It could be like Rossi's last year!!

Haydens head must be in bits now.

"Utter ....." is the only way I can describe his luck and season so far.

damn thats painful.
i no ive been an instigator in any haystack banter when he was beating my boy ,but believe me when i say im really feeling for the guy this yearand i hope he gets back up the sharp end where he belongs soon.
i named him the cruisin caretaker a while ago but feel its just to below the belt to call him that now.

put it this way, the big red bike certenly aint cruisin.
i think we all need to remember that these are totaly new bikes with no real race data on them,it going to take a season to get them and the riders dialed in,it was the same for some of the 990s when they switched.

When i saw the way Nicky fell off the bike and the remains of the honda after it i thought he would be lucky to get away without an injury.

After the accident when i saw him in the gravel punching the ground it reminded me of estoril 06.

Like Valentino last year.

How would you describe the luck Pasini has had in 125s this year!

Hayden's year is far worse in my opinion that Vale's last year, and Hayden has no realistic shot of making any comeback...

WTF is up with Edwards? I have never seen anyone start at pole and be 18th after 1/2 a lap...

Pasini - Well i cant see him wanting to stay if they cant get the bike right.

Hayden - Bad luck, that seems to be all i have when it comes to comments for him. It was good to see him higher on the grid then Pedrosa, if it didnt rain i guess it would have been another race.

Edwards - That what you get for saying you have the best bike when you dont !!!

From what i saw of Edwards, the bike seemed to have some technical problems as it was wobbling to get off the line. But we knew he would go backwards..

That was a horrible crash for NH, I was saying during the race getting up to 4th in the rain will do his confidence the world of good plus beating robot, and then that happens...

Poor Nicky.... Although you gotta feel way worse for Pasini in the 125s.... He's straight cursed..

Terrible news. Its gone from bad to worse, and now this. I have nothing more to add, except Damn!

Doesn't seem to be that bad. He was on his bike monday afternoon, when the sun came out.

Nicky will battle on through whatever problems he's having with that Honda no matter what, hopefully it won't be a waste of time. Good luck to him.
