Hmm...that's interesting, I believe what others have said earlier in this thread could be true...Nick on the way out bascially saying .... you I'm racing no matter what you say, and HRC saying well .... you too we don't have the resources or manpower to get you a bike. Would have been funny as hell if Nick showed up on a Ducati Motard...ha!

Makes me cringe thinking about the rest of Nick's 2008 season.

Honda have always been a bad team to ride for, they've never looked after there riders very well, they are arrogant enough to think their bike is the best and it looked that way for a while, then their top rider left and they've only seen 1 championship since (good for Nicky ), now look how they're treating him! I hope they never get another.


I know one thing, I will not buy a Honda because of them.

My first bike was a CBR 600F4i and the honda dealership pissed me off so much that my second and third bikes where Yamaha's. I know not all Honda dealerships are bad but it was just my luck to do business with one with the same mentality as HRC.

Lets face it the whole point of racing is so the manufacturer's can show off, hell I considered getting a ducatti after last season, (lack of cash and common sense prevailed and stopped me!)

We buy all- sorts of products because they sponsor MOTOGP......

.... Honda cause they have become HUGE ......... AND I am SUre IF Nicky wants a Hypermotard Someone would hook it up with one so he can kick all their ..... ...... The one thing is that I don't think they would allow a twin in that race. Not really sure though. Anyone know the rules? Would they allow a Ducati Hypermotard with the hondas and others?

I thought I would have to wait another 10 years before I could see this.
He probabaly won't be competitive enough for a podium but good enough to run
with the Pastrana, McGrath pack. (McGrath was lapped last year but still finished like 5th or so)
This race usually sucks because it's so long and the leaders are far better than the wildcards.
Still it will be exiting seeing Nicky running in a sport where he could win every week if he dedicated himself to it.

Whenever you guys see the time it will be broadcast please post it.

The only thing that could make this news better is an announcement that Pedrosa will be there as well.

He'd be put in the hay bails within the first half lap. I would be laughing and enjoying Nicky get back to his roots.

knagdrok Im lovignt he "Steel Superman" icon. I loved that series. I have every single comic book from the "death" of superman, all 4 series of the other supermen and then his "resurrection" and some more of the long hair version of superman.

i was abit of a superman geek back in the day hahaha.

In the last stuff I've seen, Burkhart has been walking away, beating Wardy by a few seconds. I would assume it will be Nicky and Burkhart up front. Nicky is way faster on a supermoto than McGrath or Pastrana. He's got it in him like BBoz does (or did, not sure if that's all over for him) and BBoz beat Eddy Seel pretty good and I rate Seel far higher than Burkhart.

I wish I had that sort of willpower. The RC51 is the first Superbike I ever fell in love with and when it comes time to move on from my 600 it will be very hard to say no to one.

I doubt the HyperMotard would be legal, isn't it a 900 or something? It's more streetfighter than motard bike as far as I know. But I think twins are legal, I'm nearly positive I've seen the Aprilia 450 twin out there before.

Yeah I knew the displacement was more than that of the regular bikes that is why I figured it wouldn't pass muster. Oh well Maybe they make a smaller engine so they can get in the series one day.

Yeah I was a bit surprised with that bike. The name is quite misleading, and with Ducati's race heritage and popularity of motard you would think they would be looking for a way in. Or maybe they have zero interest in making a MotoX based bike, which is likely the scenario if they haven't done a true motard yet.

After a return east, Hayden heads back out west to Los Angeles, where he will take part this Saturday in the 14th edition of the X Games onboard a supermoto. motogp.com will report on the Repsol Honda rider´s progress next week.
