Hi GatorDuc. I usually never, ever, check these newbie threads because most always the new guys disappear as quick as they joined. But your thread title caught my attention. BTW, great pic.
Ok, I see you probably have a Mac since you uploaded to “apple’s” site. Ok, I’m gonna tell you what to do. You mention that after 20 secs the “upload line disappears”. The reason why this happens is because you picture is too big (has more than 1meg). All you have to do is reduce the size.
So I’m gonna give you these directions because I’m interested to see your Laguna pics. BTW, we have a thread in the ‘motogp chap’ board called Laguna “depot” pics going, you might want to post them there.
Follow these directions:
1. Put the pic on the desktop (you can have them in a folder if you want, but put that folder in the desktop, its just easier this way.)
2. Click on the pic you want and open it up.
3. Once open, click on the ‘Tools” menu and go down to ‘adjust size’.
4. A drop down menu will open. Click on the toggle “fit into” (You will see a series of dimensions sizes you can select from). You can actually pick any of these and the picture will reduce under 1meg. But the best one to upload your pics is 800 X 600. (BTW, when you click on any dimension you can see the new resulting size in the same box below, cool feature, you gotta love Macs).
5. Once you select 800 X 600, click ok. You will see your pic resize. Click on the close button as if you’re going to close the picture. (Its the red round button at the top left). It will then ask if you want to save changes, click ‘save’.
6. Now you picture has been resized and you are ready to upload and post. (It may seem like a long process, but once you do it a few times it will take you about 5 secs to do.
7. Now you can post it no problem. Just open up a reply field (as if you are going to post a reply to a thread). Click on the ‘choose file’ button. Find you pic on the desk top folder and select it, then click ‘open’. You will then see the pic name next to the ‘choose file’ button you click on before.
8. At this point you are now ready to upload, so click on the ‘UPLOAD’ button (light green button).
9. The picture file will then appear in the ‘Attachments’ (it’s a toggle switch box that says “manage current attachments”. Click in that toggle and you will see you pic name, if you click on it, then it will appear in the reply field. (Note, the picture will appear wherever your cursor was in the reply field, this allows you to add a caption).
10. Click on the ‘Preview post’, so you know you like what you see, then click on the ‘Add Reply’ button. Done I hope I didn’t write all this .... in vain, only to see you have disappeared forever. Welcome to the forum.
