New MotoGp site

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yamaka46 @ Apr 17 2008, 11:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I find it fine with Ubuntu and Firefox on my mates machine. What issues do you have?

Site loads up... then all the images and links disappear and the status bar says "loading images".
It is 64bit Ubuntu which does have documented problems with Flash - took me a frickin age to get it working at all. Most other flash-based sites still work fine, though.
What I can't understand is when people build their whole sites in Flash when it just isn't necessary.

Actually - having just tried it, the new site works slightly better - at least some links are viewable next to the huge, blank, grey panels where I assume there should be some Flash-based frippery.

To continue the Gavin Emmett email saga, I hope I have good news. Here is his latest reply:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>The issue with the 'detailed' results has been raised and the intention is clearly to have everything as it was before it terms of access. Again, with the race videos, there will also be an improved tool for browsing to allow access to previous events. All these videos will be available to the relevant subscribers as they were previously.

The process is a gradual one, and hopefully by Shanghai most of the new web will be in place.

and here is my answer:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Dear Mr Emmett,

Thanks once again for a swift reply. I appreciate that changing the site involves much work and am most grateful for your considered response.

As you may or may not be aware, I have been posting all of our correspondence on the forums I frequent, and people seem very pleased with your quick and helpful responses.

It is nice to know that the information you have supplied in the past will soon be available once again. I hope that this also brings to your attention just how much the data provided by your site is held in high regard.

I look forward to the new site improvements.
