MUGELLO Italian GP (Predictions & Practice/Qual)

This is what I call projecting one's own mind on a great champion. You are basically saying he's pretending he's injured? Great.
<

Rossi, like all great riders, does not function that way. He' wouldn't be where he is, if he was into your petty calculations.
<

Maybe its just part of his pre -race celebration. Pretend injuries, he is obviously having a ... at stoner.
<

So Rossi says his shoulder is worse than he thougt and then goes on to plenty of laps and be quickest at a circuit which would likely punish the shoulder a lot. Sounds about right then
<

Tom, he was fast even at Le Mans during the tests, he even made the pole -- doing runs of several laps and then resting is different from doing an entire race. Then this is Mugello, it may be tough but it's his own playground...

I know, and friday practice pace in no guarantee of a good race result. But it would be naive to think that his mentioning of the shoulder wasn't a concious decision he made with competitive priorities. I highly doubt he chose the thursday press conference to let the world into his honest world of doubts, worries and insecurities.

As much as I've given Stoner stick I want him to be competitive. I thought his crash was a nothing crash - i.e. he put it down so he didn't hit the wall. He didn't come on strongly afterwards though so either he and his crew have no idea what to do, or they know what to do but cant because they can't change the current bike enough to set it up the way they like it.

Far be it from me to agree with Tom (I'm not) but he wasn't as consistant as this at Jerez or Le Mans.

With all due respect J4rno, this is what I've been reading relentlessly from the Rossi horde for about a year now. Double standard? No

He doesn't need the gay hair cut, his expressions are gay enough.

i remember one race, it was about 9PM here and some of the neighbors are already asleep so i couldn't shout as someone (i think it was jorge) was trying to pass vale. i was covering my mouth so as to muffle any sound i might create...then the TV crew decided to flash uccio on the screen. lo and behold, we were doing exactly the same thing. hunched forward, two hands covering the mouth...

i decided never to do that again when watching the races

You mean about Stoner's mistery illness last year? I certainly never dismissed that either as an excuse, and I feel responsible only of my own words, not of those of any "hordes".... Or am I missing your point?
