Motorsports are in serious trouble

What exactly is bernie et al's cut from the F1 circus?. If there needs to be belt tightening which would seem to be fairly obviously the case this might be a fruitful area to look at.

I would love to see the factories cut their racing budgets and go race prototype sports cars instead. Sports cars have long been more technically interesting than F1 and now the discipline is more relevant (not to mention more exciting!).

So c'mon BMW, Toyota, Renault, pack your bags and go attack Le Mans (stop by the states for an ALMS effort too!). F1 is over-rated and dull. I attended the Petit Le Mans last week and I saw a lot of potential for growing the sport. The fans were passionate and excited about cheering on their favorite marques (some even had tattoos pledging their alleigance!). Imagine how big the sport could get if the factories dumped F1 and gave it a try!

Sports car racing has upset the apple cart before, in terms of the world championship heirarchy. The FIA had to kill off Group C with the 3.5 litre formula! The FIA isn't in control now, however, so there won't be any FIA shenanigans.

This isn't worth the hard drive it's stored on. There is no reason for a boss to come out and tell people that a sport is on the verge of failure. As Mosley says himself, it has been known for some time that the sport would fail. Really, why didn't you run through the streets telling us about it the moment it was discovered?

This is a cunning business man taking advantage of a financial disaster so he can use public opinion to push for change. Politicians do it everyday. Panic leads to action. All you have to do is guide the panicked sheep into the pen of your choice. Then start fleecing them.

Corporate business stooges crack me up.

We may see less car on the grid, maybe 16, unless something is done..

I'm agreeing with Lex again, this is happening more often, should I see a doctor?

No, you should embrace it.
