Yes, it's been pretty poor in 2007 and 2008 but he used up a lot of it in 2006. We should be coming up on equilibrium with luck swinging back into his favor somewhere around mid 2009 or 2010.

Sorry Austin, I wasn't intending or meaning to insinuate anything with regards to luck, as personally I do believe that in the true meaning of the word 'luck;, what goes around comes around and one must contribute to their own (as did Hayden by sheer will and consistency in 2006).

I did however mean that throughout 2007/2008 not a lot went his way, starting with the bike design to becoming the testing guinea pig and further on to running out of fuell a few metres short, and as we know there was a lot in between. All this must have affected him mentally and made him feel 'out of place' in the Puig Pits and thus he now has a fresh start to regenerate himself and I do hope he silences some critics by being able to produce results in 2009.

I agree with you. Hayden had a relative smooth go at it through 2006 (barring 2004) and it's caught up to him. I don't think he's ever worked harder than he did in 2008 and hopefully he'll get rewarded with some results in 2009.

i think it's gonna take nick a bit into the season before he gets to grips with gp9. with the exception of the06 season, he's always started the season off rather slow. also with the test season being so short this year i think, which won't help him, he'll start showin what he'll be capable of about a 3rd of the way into the season. assen is a track he likes & go's well at so i look for his 1st decent result in holland.... i hope anyway.
