That is what is great about Vale. Even if he dose not get the win or even losses a position in a great battle, he's got a great attitude and it shows he is doing what he loves.

I second that, nicely put

from an interview:

"Valentino Rossi reckons that he would have had trouble beating Dani Pedrosa today even if he had qualified better yesterday"

"Well done to him, he's five points closer to me now,"

this is what a good sportman say's not sulking in the corner making excuses, anways i found something funny rossi said, we always say about pedrobot being like a robot, here is a funny comment from rossi:

We know if Pedrosa is ahead he's like a "computer" and makes no mistakes

thats pretty funny.
pedro was totally untouchable today. when he is in front with no traffic to get around he is dangerous, he just need to learn to fight through the pack but give it time and he will im sure of that.

where are the quintet today, there very quiet for a race day

Pedrosa was spectacular today, leading from the front and never looking back. I am sure he appreciates winning in his home country.

Rossi may have been able to fight with Pedrosa a bit or at least keep him honest, but to go from the third row to finish second is remarkable.

I think Stoner is getting a taste of humble pie similar to what Rossi did last year. Finishing third is not a bad result. I think the machinery is pretty even. The big problem Stoner seems to be having is that he does not have an absolute rocketship which is capable of blowing everyone away. In other words, when everyone else has a good bike and is on their game he has been second or third best and it rankles him (rightly so). I think we will see more from Stoner as the season goes on. He would probably be well served if he gave him fellow competitors some credit from time to time. It gives the impression that he is belittling their accomplishments when he does not win. That is just my opinion anyway, for whatever it is worth.

Overall I liked the race, and I think the Doctor is showing the return to form that many said he had lost. I also like J.T. everytime I see him race, what a scrapper he is, I think I am slowly becoming a Toseland fan (behind Rossi of course).

rossi and toseland swapped a bit of paint topday and neither complained about it. both hard chargers.

I agree... and hes only kidding himself because its not possible to win because of Pedrosa and Rossi.

Bit of a yawnfest imo

but at least the tv cameras didn't stay with pedro for the whole race. it showed some great fights of rossi moving up the pack and battling with stoner. and how about that battle to the finish line between jt and mole face. maybe im just easy to please.

I actually started typing..."at least we had rossi reminding people how to overtake"........but deleted it.

I wouldnt say Rossi was battling with stoner, more like toying with him and just delaying the enevitable really, bring back Sete!

Maybe I'm hard to please........I really just seriously <span style='color:#000000;background:#000000'>....... hate it when a race is sealed on the first few laps, and the outcome is decided. Note taking anything away from the ride, it was a crushing victory.......but I didnt make it to the edge of my seat today.

I agree, another boring 800 race. When the leader take off it takes away too much from the excitement in the race. All we need now is continious charge from Rossi and a DNF from DP and the championship excitement are next to gone too.

Stoner and Rossi also battled for position last year at Barcelona, even though it was for first place then. With the former winning that fight, the latter was asked if he had been afraid of a repeat this time around.

"Yes, absolutely," Rossi replied. "I immediately tried to get ahead and open a gap. It would have been better, but I didn't manage to. Casey caught back with me and overtook me and I thought: 'now let's take revenge from last year'.

Sweet revenge...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Babelfish @ Jun 9 2008, 02:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>... My guess is that he had his tires going off a bit and didn't push it. I'm sure he could have pushed harder and had an extra second or two at race end but that would have been silly and dangerous in the situation he were in. I found Rossis 42 lap at the end interesting, those tires were not finished. Just proves he's comfotable with the stones now.

I think if ( oh yes I use the word "If"...
<
) we added 5 more laps, than Rossi would finished just about 1 sec behind Pedro.

If your aunt has a ....,than she would not be my uncle...

btw, Rossi's team will stay at the Catalunya tomorrow for the post-race test, where they will do more tyre testing. No doubt he is taken very very seriously to grab his title back.

Rosie bitched so much last year he was given Bstone tires

This year Rosie just has to point his bike to where he wants it go whereas that Ducati, well 1 up the front 3 down the back compared to the consistancy of the Hondas and Yamahas, says it all. Mel is not that bad a rider, anyone who can perofrm a one handed smokin wheelie to celebrate a motogp win - yes a motogp win and not a ride around the farm paddock or worse on the edge of the chair in front of the TV, has got to have something.

People have quoted Stoner without stating the question asked. He was simply replying, the kid just responds. How was he supposed to answer the podium question?

Perhaps the Jurnos can see there are issues with the Duc that one eyed down trodders do not or don't want to see?

its a miracle the ducati got where it did, looking at how it buckled on every entry and exit. no wonder marco is 2 seconds a lap behind. the ducati is a peice of ..... the yamaha just points n shoot, takes tighter lines, and never once looked like a bucking bronco.

The actual quote that I saw aired on TV...

"Looking at the race set-up from yesterday we were confident that we could do some pretty good times today and I felt it was a race we could win but for some reason from the first lap I kept losing the rear on entry into the corners. That made me lose confidence because at this circuit there are a lot of places where you need to brake and enter at the same time so I missed a lot of braking markers, made some mistakes and lost too much ground to Dani. I managed to work a way around it and in the last part of the race we started to do some reasonable lap times again, but at at that point it was a straight battle with Valentino. There was some pretty close passing with him, at times I could almost feel him next to me, but I knew there were some sections where under normal circumstances I could have been faster. Unfortunately when you are racing somebody of that quality you need everything to be working well and that wasn't the case for us today. It hasn't been a good day and I wasn't too pleased with the way I rode but at the end of the day you can't complain too much about a podium. Now we've got an important test to work out why we had this problem today."

Casey is, indeed, a nice kid who is riding a less that optimal ship and doing quite well from my perspective.
