And oh boy is it. Friday before the F1 race, it was 5 30 pm and it was packed to the highway.

Remember... they don't have a liquor license, it is in a dry county, so bring your own booze.
Great place if you are a groupie and want to take some photos.

I can testify to this. I went to a 'Salt Lick' in Calgary once - very good.
Don't Vancouver have something similar?

Probably a good idea. There's great BBQ in downtown Austin. But often the lines are just too long.
Personally I think Salt Lick is over rated, but folks like to go there for the experience. I get that.
Stubb's BBQ is pretty good and right down town. Usually not too busy. Also Coopers, but it's new and it'll probably be completely packed.
If I just want good BBQ without a ton of fuss I usually just go to Rudy's. Not downtown (where i live), but not far.
