Back to your topic...surely Bastianini has earned the factory seat.

Apparently (according to Tardozzi) we'll know by Mugello next weekend

Apologies, you're absolutely correct.
I was sure the first year of his contract was the fateful ..... /Jerez crash 2020 season. My mistake.

No problem!

Agreed, he is a Moto2 world champ after all and is showing himself to be much more consistent in his second season than Martin.

Well, Aprilia have confirmed their riders and Alex Rins is apparently talking to Yamaha and KTM

RNF confirmed with Aprilia for 2023.

Miguel Oliveira has been told by KTM that he may be moved back to the Tech3 team for 2023 to make place for Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller or Alex Rins.

Surprising. If I hired Rins or Pol, they'd be in the Tech3 team. Pol always choked on the factory KTM and Miguel HAS won a race for KTM this yr.

EDIT to add: Simaon Crafar explained that it's easier to get a rider to sign for the KTM factory team over Tech 3, but Miguel would basically still have full factory support but under the Tech3 banner.

Fabio confirmed with Yamaha. Rumours that there may be an exit clause in Morbidelli's contract for 2023.

According to the article in the other thread lex linked to. Yamaha brought a more powerful engine for this yr but it wasn't reliable enough so they are working on reliability. That and a big fat paycheck for Fabio probably.

Given their recent past, he’s sure giving them a lot of trust.

Seems like Miller to KTM is done, only missing the official announcement. Other stuff I've read, don't know how accurate, is Oliveira to Gresini, Bestia to official Duc, Mir to Honda, Pol to Tech 3, Fernandez and Rins negotiating to go to Aprilia's satellite team, with Honda LCR also fighting to get Rins services in place of Lil' Márquez.

Interesting takes. So potentially we'd have a Binder/Miller Factory KTM lineup. Interesting about Oliveira, can't say I'm surprised if he feels KTM are casting him aside. They say he's get a factory bike but would he get factory support?

I'd say at the moment the Beast is more likely for a factory duc seat than Martin. Mir to Honda seems a done deal but given they said today in FP2 he's struggling with front end feeling on the Suzuki, is that really going to work out?

I've no idea why KTM would be interested in taking Pol back.

I just read up a little on Toprak.

It would sure be interesting to have him in MotoGP.

Yamaha could use a hand there.

His WSBK Yamaha also struggles with straight line speed against the Ducati. I think Rea is still running capped at 500 fewer rpm than the other riders......I think.

I remember when Ducati was at such a disadvantage in WSB that they had to let them run bigger engines.

Maybe it’s time to turn the tables and let in line 4’ s have more displacement.
