Lol, Iannone may get some backlash from Rossi fans, but Rossi doesn't need to be concerned if Ianonne wins. Only riders Rossi needs to make sure he beats are Marc and Jorge.

True, the only riders racing for the championship are those three but then why such a kerfuffle over PI (joking btw)?

Thing is, 5 points lost this weekend could determine the end result in the title race, just as a few small points did last year so I do not see him 'settling' for 2nd if he has a chance (plus it is not really his make up), but I do not see him going full bore 'get out of my way' with Iannonne if there are risks surrounding the outcome.

At this stage of the season you do not want to give up to many points, but you also want to score as many as possible with the view of the last 5 or so races

I agree the 5 points may matter later in the season, however it's a big risk to stay in front of Iannone early in the race. Iannone obviously isn't worried about the championship and will be very aggressive without being very precise. If Rossi isn't under pressure from Jorge or Marc, he has the luxury of waiting until the tires start to go off. If Iannone has managed not to crash, Rossi can attack in the later stages of the race.

Very true, but I suspect that were VR in front of Ianonne rather than JL/MM being in front, then Iannonne may ride slightly differently should a gap appear

Sure, these guys are racers and what not, but he has felt the wrath once (unfairly) and being a personal friend he may well be a little more diplomatic when passing (not in a Petrucci way)

Remember the terrible pass Iannone put on Rossi at Argentina before he caught up to and ultimately crashed into Dovi?

Actually no.

Coverage out here is poor (seriously, get a lot of tv interference even though I am just outside a main town - but still many miles from cities), and even the internet can be flakey (thank you Telstra you lazy fuckers)

I still say he will take care around Rossi - once bitten type of thing

IMO only here, but I personally reckon that the loss of the ride will make him focus more which is all I believe he needs. He has the speed, he has the ability but he needs the mental focus ........... in so many ways he is reminding me of Simoncelli.

Easy to say now, but I think Ducati screwed up. Dovi and Lorenzo both struggled with the front. They suffer the same poison, chances are if Lorenzo was on the Duc now both would be languishing. Ducati need the likes of Iannone with a different all out riding style. Suzuki would be smiling though.

You have to look it at from different angles. Sure, Dovi is the safe bet. However, If you keep Iannone and he interferes with Lorenzo next year at all it would be a S*** storm.

Iannone had his seat at Ducati but he single handily blew it by crashing over and over.

Dovi is the new Pedrosa at Ducati. Sit there, shut up, and dont screw up.
