What is this, NASCAR?

It was criminal when Rossi did it. It was criminal today. It's criminal if the sport does not step in to stop this behavior. It's clear from his post-race comments that Marquez does not realize that what he does is not acceptable, and potentially very dangerous. When are the officials going to take their responsibility?

This is definitely not NASCAR, if it were, the championship winning team would have plenty of sponsorship money...

As I said earlier, that Marquez almost ran up the back of Lorenzo 3 times was more concerning.

Agree 100%. 2nd and 3rd times (I think...) he looked outta control. Final corner not so much, just an enthusiastic opportunist!

Also they would have safety-car'd it with 2 laps to go...

If you left the door open & someone comes in on you. Who's fault is it??

Was perfectly fine when flossi did it to Sete back in 05.

Kudos to Lorenzo for his self control in the interviews. No whining, which was nice.

There was a gap & Marquez went for it, simple as that. Of course you can't help but feel that those with a vested interest are going to complain.

This.

I doubt Jorge will leave the door as open as that on the last corner in future.

Pretty hard when you getting ran into.

Sete Gibernau would probably agree with you. A far dirtier and more cynical move at that corner has been celebrated as a genius race tactic by the custard coloured '.......' crew for the last eight years.

Regrettably Vale can't get anywhere near the Three Amigo's for now - 18 points back from 'M&M' in the championship and counting. (Will undoubtably be testing Cal's forward seated fuel tank mounting/configuration tomorrow).

Congrats to Marquez. Needs to stop snatching at the brakes Moto 2 style though.

Dani didn't win six out the last eight races last year by coincidence. He needed this today and he knew that. Great pass on Lorenzo  and very impressive how he gapped him. He really didn't need to fall into the clutches of Marquez today.

Naw, Rossi's face is eminently more slappable than Marky Marc's face.

I would also like to highlight the performance of Michael Laverty - finished 9 places up on his qualifying position and earned 3 points into the bargain :toot:

One question, was Marquez ruthless or dangerous?

See I could make an argument for either, I know you could almost see steam coming out of Lorenzo's helmet at the end there and who could blame him? Thing is, in some ways I'm inclined to think it is such moves as that which make champions, or they end up with someone getting badly hurt. It's a very fine line between the two I reckon.

Espargaro was excellent again, good ride by Cal despite his injuries, nice pass on Bautista too, that's the way to do it ;) Have to say too, if Pedrosa hadn't won/beaten his team mate today his season would probably have been as good as over in his mind, now, we got a fight for the championship!!

Neither, he was the faster rider and had been blocked most of the race. Any pass to get second was going to be hard. Lorenzo left an opening, Marquez took a shot. No biggie, precedent was set in 05.

Masterful race by Pedro, maybe that will hush up the morons that keep calling for him to be replaced by inferior riders. At least until the next race that he doesnt win.

Marquez is the shot in the arm the series needs for the same morons who continuously whine about how boring GP is.

Lorenzo should be worried, Honda took 1st and 2nd on a proclaimed Yamaha track. France should favor Honda as well with its numerous 1st gear turns.

Is Rossi back? He is averaging finishing 10 seconds behind winner of 1st 3 races. Or is he simply just best of the rest now.

Thought Marquez was more desperate than nasty. If he hadn't hit Jorge, he was going straight on. Marky was pretty hairy in places, nearly running into Lorenzo a couple of times. Gonna be an interesting season, Vale just not in the same race. Gutsy race by Cal. Pedrosa was on fire. Bring on Le Mans

I think he's about where he can expect to be. This year he'll sniff the odd podium, have to watch out for rampant satellites, or ride to lonely 4ths.

Desperate... good description! Don't think he'd have run on... wide yes. Yep, said it earlier, MM near rear-enders were more concerning!
