Just out of interest, anyone know what a MotoGP bike could do a 0-60mph time in if it was geared correctly? Saying that they'd prob just use 1st!

Anyone know tho? cant seem to find out on the net, maybe i have'nt looked hard enough...

Hell of a question, I got no answers though. I would guess it would have to be somewhere in the 2 second range.

most modern 1000cc sports bikes will do 0-60 in the region of 2 3/4 secs gp bikes are alot lighter and have approx 100bhp more the problem is getting the bike moving without ending up sat behind it on the track this involves alot of clutch slipping so possibly 0-60 might not be blistering but if you looked at 30-100 then the bikes would show thier true colours

ron wot a superb question of which i have no anwser but waitin for sum brainy sort to give us the real anwser, i say again superb question

if you could keep the front wheel on the floor, you would be looking around 2 second's,which is close on warp speed, these bike's [RCV] are kicking out about 260 bhp, which most sport's car's dont even have,so put that power into a bike and that should give you some idea !if these bike's had wing's they would deffinatley FFFFFLLLLLLYYYYYYY !!!!!!

This is one of the reasons the Yamaha M1 only has 4 valves per cylinder whereas the road going R1 has 5, it is to stop the power being so brutale i did spend 20 minutes searching last night but cant find the info but i guess these sort of figures are kept a closely guarded secret
<
also remember they change gearing according to the track so thier 0-60 times would also vary
<

i really dont think you will find an exact official properly timed figure you may find an approx or an in the region of or even a qualified opinion

Cheers for the replies guys,

Around 2secs is pretty much what i thought.

Yep 30-100 would be outstanding wouldnt it.

My friend pointed out that the closer you get to zero the more impossible it is, obviously so really anything under 2seconds is damn hard!
