"I just think it was good hard clean racing," Rainey said. "OK, they bumped. That's the way I remember it, the way you're supposed to race. I don't know everybody's saying, but I just thought it was a great race." That was also Rossi's view, but Lorenzo thought Rossi was being too aggressive

exactly right imo. To many cry babes in motogp these days. Nobody moans about a bit of paint swapping in the lower classes.

Cherrypicking again?

"I kinda see both sides of it. They both race for Yamaha," he said. "So, in the end, you don't want to knock each other down, especially when you're on the same team. Rossi's leaving the team and Lorenzo's racing for a world championship. So Lorenzo, when he chose to race Rossi there at the end he should've expected Rossi to retaliate, to get him back." WR

anybody watch the prerace press conference today? When asked about Motegi Lorenzo was just like "what happened at Motegi" ..it was kind of odd to see him sit there and pretend nothing happened
<

With a world title? I figured that was the most obvious way of showing it!

I don't see what your problem is, most riders play it safe to seal the title as soon as possible, Rossi did it last year.

I guess you missed the part where I said i don't care if he rides easy to collect the points to earn said world title.....I don't like him jumping around wanting hard racing againt the top guys and then complaining about it becuase something might happen if he gets tangled up in a wreck. Again...he needs to either crap or get off the pot. He could have cruised round in 4th and had those point with no hassle (like you state above)..yet he chose to fight with the 3rd place guy for 3 more points?? ego?? got board riding by himself?? Dont' know the real answer, but he kicked the bee hive and was shocked when the bees came out to protect the nest.

He should take your wise post and play it safe to finish out the season.....the title is all but his anyway so why push it??

Is there a reason why that sight won't let me copy text? WTF, this isn't a national secret is it?
<

Anyway, his comments are interesting, and like Rainey, see both sides (though some peeps would like to see it one sided ^).

Pretty much everybody has been saying the same thing, that is, the battle was legal, aggressive, but not in Yamaha's interest.

BTW, I thought Garners comments about Stoner's effort next year were very interesting, and almost to a letter, echo my sentiments about what will be his experience next year with Repsol Honda.

“I'll say to you what I said to Yamaha: if the situation in the championship was tighter, and Dani was leading the race, I could have handled myself differently. But the ways things are, it seems a little silly. What championship is left? Lorenzo needs five more points with Dani in the hospital. It seems to me like the championship was already decided on Friday in Japan. Last year, at Phillip Island, Lorenzo had crashed and I was running second to Stoner. At a certain point I could have tried to attack Stoner for the win, but I decided to take a safe second place for the championship. And I won the championship."

What did you think of the battle between Lorenzo and Rossi last week?

“It's normal, in competition and when you have two riders that strong, that neither of the two will give any ground. Neither wants to lose out in a fight. For me it is normal."

Do you think Lorenzo made a mistake by complaining to Yamaha?

“I would not have done it personally, but I wasn't there in that fight. It is hard to say what is right and wrong when you are pitting two riders like that against one another, especially when they are teammates. I had to battle with my teammate years ago, Alex Crivillé, and one time we both ended up in the gravel. That is racing."

I just recently started watching , dude is a trip

My problem with Rossi isn't so much Rossi as it is his "Parents" - ie: Dorna and all the other people and organizations

that that have enabled his spoiled brat behavior because their pocketbooks are so strongly attached to

his participation in the sport. If Dorna had spanked him over the Giberau incident instead of looking the other way he might

have grown up to be a responsible adult. But he continues to be a spoiled brat throwing tantrums whenever he doesn't get

his way.

As to anyone's objectivity - it's crystal clear. Rossi broke the rules by making a pass that was only made possible by

leaving the track. Nobody with functioning cognition can deny this. It's black and white and not really open to "interpretation".

Doesn't matter if one corrupt Dorna official turns his back on it or if 100 corrupt Dorna officals turn their back on it - it doesn't

change the reality.

Inconsistency and preferential treatment.

Anyone recall the ludicrous circumstances of Tamada's disqualification at Motegi?

(I'll wager Jum will, given who stepped onto the block in his place)

Yup i do, and thats when my respect for gibbers and Butler was flushed down the toilet !

This sounds like a political statement -- no facts given, just your personal beliefs, and dividing the world in good and bad guys.
<

So this should be answered in a political way... Here is my statement:

"I am happy to remain in the company of many excellent people who have commented that episode (as well as more recent ones -- practically all the great champions from Agostini to Schwantz). If their minds are not clear nor objective on these matters (at least according to you) then I prefer 1,000 times to remain obfuscated just as they are!"

Come on J4 - what's political about asking the riders to play by the rules? The rules say "you can't cut corners"

and in the event a rider does so by accident or design - he's not supposed to retain any advantage gained by

doing so. Without going off the track he could not have passed Stoner there. Those are the facts. It's not more

complicated than that.

Rossi did not gain an advantage though!. Rossi was in front prior to him going on the dirt. stoner came along side as rossi was getting back on the tarmac. had stoner not tried to pass while rossi was on the dirt there would not have even been a touch. Schwantz pointed this out ffs !

He could not have completed the pass without going off the track. How else to say it? If he'd made that same pass

and stayed on the track - it would have been legit (not to mention a miracle of physics).
