Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky 2017

I wouldn't call it a might've at this stage. It was a stupid decision choosing the 38 year old who wins a race or two a season and hasn't had a championship since '09 over the 24(22 when they threw him under the bus) year old that's won 3 of 4 championships and continues to rack up race wins. Rossi is on the best bike with tyres that should suit him and he still can't seem to mount a serious challenge to Marquez. Choosing the less talented, less adaptable, slower and older guy was stupidity.

Are you having a giraffe?
Who qualified closer to Marquez?
Finished 2 seconds behind Vinales despite pitting 1 lap later.

So he's been able to mount a serious challenge to Marquez has he?

Did Vinales get his preferred tyre removed?

Did Rossi ride with a new chassis which Vinales has not yet been able to test?

So once again, despite every advantage that Yamaha and DORNA can give him he's still not able to mount a serious championship challenge against Marquez.

You're just singing hymns from the forum bible.

Oh yeah and the Rossi copying setup fantasy....

...and this proves what?
So Rossi and Burgers never insisted on seeing Lorenzo's data in 2010, despite initially insisting on the wall remaining and data sharing banned in team Yamaha?
There's no shame in using a team mates settings, as long as you give credit to your team mate if it pays off. Props to Maverick for doing so.

Wasn't my point though, which was that impressive as Valentino surely is at age 38, just now MM looks rather more likely than Valentino to be the man who wins 8/10, and Dorna seems to have willingly participated in the trashing of MM's brand.

I think the only reason they dropped Laguna off the calendar, is because public smoking, yellow or otherwise, is prohibited in Cali

At first I thought, if Lorenzo had pitted on first or second lap, he could have ended up in the top four. But his performance on slicks was crap compared to Dovi.

From what ive read 'nothing official' Ducati still didnt have a full dry setup on Lorenzo's bike even after the wait. Not sure about Dovi's. Weird race that was decided on lap 2. Repsol and Yamaha were ready, Ducati not so much. The difference in the race is Marquez. His ability to keep a bike upright has hit a different level. The elbow is not just a feeler gauge anymore, he is using it to save the front which takes quite a bit of physical strength when you implement it into every freaking turn. That and his ability to get heat in a tire on the outlap of a cold track in a matter of turns instead of laps is what makes him virtually unbeatable on a flag to flag race. All the boppers are in a ....... rage because Yamaha ...... Rossi again. He would have surely won the race or at worst finished second if they hadnt called him in late blah blah horseshit. Its damned if you do and damned if you dont with Yamaha on a FTF race. The bike according to Rossi is very slow on outlaps and will risk crash if pushed before they hit a certain window in temperature. Its not just this years, but historically. That is probably true, but some of it has to fall on the rider and where his risk window is. Marquez's window is a little more open which has led to him dominating FTF races. Excellent damage limitation by both Vinales and Rossi it could have gone much much worse. I hope Honda can limit the damage as well in Austria. It wont surprise me to see the best Honda finish 5-10 with top contenders gaining major points. Austria offers nothing that suits the Honda and it will be a miracle if Marquez or Pedrosa podiums

If this were about competition, yes. It's not. Rossi sells Dorna 10x more than all the other riders combined. At Brno, the contrast was deafening, yellow smoke, yellow flags, yellow hats, yellow teeshirts, yellow umbrellas, etc. while Rossi threw away a podium on stupid strategy and Marquez looked like Houdiniwinking the entire grid, paddock, and spectators. The only thing that saved Rossi was the overwhelming advantages his sport agent Carmelo has granted him. MotoGP is a entertainment enterprise, the game is: let's all tune in to see the Yellow hero against the bad guys. Entertainment, not an authentic competition.

I wouldn't be adverse to putting a few bucks down on Dovi in Austria. I can picture a finish like, Dovi, Vinales, Rossi.

Rossi despite whatever confusion was running in his head about changing bikes, obviously had good pace. I have to think there was some kind of major confusion in the Yamaha garage on Sunday. Hard to imagine a guy with that much racecraft staying out on wets when everyone else was changing. Say what you will about his ethics; Rossi's not dumb.
