How can VR hit MM brake lever when they are required to have guards to prevent that from happening? FWIW Honda has the data to show if the front brake lever was activated, but can that be trusted after the fact?

Rossi was looking at MM, not at his foot so he must be really coordinated to hit his handlebar/lever. Maybe he was pushing MM off as he was constantly leaning on him? That’s a normal reaction to being hit. VRs bike was more orange than blue after the race.

If MM was racing for points why did he pull into the pits? Was his bike broken or was his reason for racing over?

MM hit VR twice in that last corner, VR never altered his trajectory. That is the definition of having the racing line. MM mistake was assuming VR would turn in so he leaned on him again (he even said so in his response). VR had no obligation to let MM alter his defensive racing line.

MM said in his statement “but in this race until that moment we never had contact”. That’s definitely not true, we all saw it! If MM lying about this how can anything else he said be trusted? BTW - since when is hitting another rider repeatedly during a race OK?

This is not the first time MM has been scolded for aggressive riding. If he lost the front diving in on VR and put both of them down what would that be a racing incident?

It was obvious MM was playing with VR and it was going to take them both out eventually. VR needed to prevent that from happening to win the championship. Don’t forget MM damn near took out Lorenzo a few races ago being too aggressive. MM even took out his own teammate Dani last year with his overly aggressive riding. That needs to be addressed or one day it might end a life.

There is no need to repeatedly make contact and pass like that unless you are intentionally holding up someone. If that someone is the points leader and you are not in the running that might be legal but most racers consider that unethical. If that rider is the same nationality as you that is a scandal.

Look at the frame by frame slow motion, Rossi moves his leg only after his knee is hit by MM's helmet. The leg movement was a reaction to the contact.

Jesus christ, how many new threads on the same subject are we going to have? Read the Sepang Race Thread!

How can anyone say MM wasn't trying to take out VR in previous corners in that slowmo link? That's very obvious even though I don't understand the language.

MM wasnt trying to take VR out....at least not intentionally....MM was trying disrupt, distract and scare VR for sure...and if Rossi fell then MM wouldn't have felt bad about it....it just worked out the other way around....and Rossi has been penalized for it...deservedly so....

The "incident" thread needs a fresh start, too much rubbish already on the race thread about it...

Seems the same should be true for VR, no?

To keep this thread on track please answer the other questions in the OP.

To me, it looks like Rossi's leg was hooked back off the foot peg by either the end of the right handlebar or perhaps Marquez's elbow, and down he goes.

Relax, people here seem more interested in mud slinging and drunken idiocy than trying to understand facts.

MM was questioned after the race why he permanently change his pace in the battle with Rossi. Because it's obvious that he managed easily to overtake Rossi and then going wide on purpose to let him pass, for another overtake. It's also obvious that Rossi could not take a good line and pace, because of MM movements around him.
MM was faster and Rossi could not escape him.
MM answer that he managed his tires, which were not in the good parameters.
Really?!

my unanswered question is just when all of you will just .... to the left. or the right. or back to whereever.
how many threads for ONE subject? honestly.
this is the flipside of having no moderators. i mean well worth it, but every time stuff like malaysia happens we get too many parasites.yes. parasites. all you do is leech of our sweet brain juices.
what this tells me is that you sign up to the ....... pinnacle of internet forums and don't even take the time to read some of our divine expert takes on these matters and mostly you don't even introduce yourselves.
you don't deserve to be informed and neither entertained by our .........

there should be a powerslide2/3/rookies forum. and if you succeed there, got money, a brit/spanish passport then maybe you can sign up here and pay to go unnoticed for a year or two before we grow tired of you and .... you right back out

I already asked this question in a few of the 6 million threads on this. I'm sure people are so enraged they just sign up and have to spew stuff out so desperately they can't comprehend posting in a thread already dedicated to that subject.

Are you saying I'm a token Brit?!

Cheers! Glad to hear that you like Sibiu (Hermannstadt in german).

I am new on the forum and I signed up because of the last race event. But I am watching MotoGP from many years ago, when Rossi was younger and unleashed :).

thats where i'm from and where my heart still resides brother.

we're just joking here. i think i speak for everyone when i say new members are more than welcome
motorcycle people= good people.

its just getting frustrating with all the threads and having to read jums longwinded response to them because he's our homie.

^^He had contact with the handle bar which turned his wheel in, I don't thing anyone said brake lever.

^^he had a tinted visor so if you could tell where he was looking you have the greatest site in the world or your telepathic.

^^I can only say what I think I saw that the foot brake lever broke I could be wrong.

^^When race director deems it as not against the rules^^
^^What is a race line
Put simply, the racing line is your attempt to create the largest possible radius when travelling from your turn in point, through the corner and out to your exit point as quick as possible
.^^

^^ This statement can be said to so many riders including Rossis too many example to choose from.

^^ again this is also at Rossis another useless comment

this bit you are correct (VR had no obligation to let MM alter his defensive racing line).
