So late in the week and no race thread started (that's the problem with back to back race weekends I suppose) I thought I'd get one going.

So what's the predictions??
Apart from the early mornings, this for me is always one of the best races of the year. Sometimes because titles are sewn up so some are racing with free rein for the first time in a while or title battles are getting close so some are having the last throw of the dice, it has thrown up some cracking battles in the last few years.

As I mentioned in another thread this week, it'll be interesting to see if Honda "cut the rope" with Marquez or learn from the last time it went .... up.

Marquez is the favourite but I'm hoping for and partially expecting a similar race to last year.

Who knows what Dovi can do here. His form at the track isn't consistent at all.

Honda are still wanting constructor and team titles , which is amazing they are leading with virtually zero help from Pedrosa this year . It’s solely up to Marc to bring them home.

And Cal. Don't forget his 25 when MM lost the plot a bit in Argentina. I know the dislike for him on here, but he has backed up MM better than DP has. Especially since Ped announced his retirement. He really should have gone there and then.
For the race though, it's a last chance for any Yamaha to run near the front but it'll be hard for the Duc's to be up there. They tend to struggle round PI.
Hopefully Rins can continue his decent run at the tail end of the season. Be good to have a Suzuki run up front again.

Very true! Sam Lowes crashes more than Cal. I started calling the guy Crash Lowes......

I think Cal is pretty underrated around here. His consistency lets him down but he is pretty quick.

Possibly the best track in the world. Amazing layout with the ocean and insanely fast corners. I'm genuinely looking forward to the early up!

Anyone heading to the race? I will be down there Sunday if anyone wants to grab a beer.

Really hoping the weather stays half decent!

The best track in the world doesn't run motogp :(
(In fact the 2 best tracks don't)
Spa and Imola pre 1994 (MM would love the 1st left hander)

Well Cal has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd to add to that, plus he loves PI so he might add more points there.

I'm going to go for MM win, Cal 2nd, and a wild guess, Rins (no don't ask, but I like him and he's done well since his return)

Phillip Island is a strange circuit, but Marquez must be the favourite.

Every manufacturer should be in contention here.

The Ducati is good here (see AI in 2015), as are the Yamahas and Hondas. Even the Suzuki was battling for the win last year.

Ducati's weren't brilliant here last year. It was really the beginning of the end for Dovi's title hunt.
Some great battles involving the others though.

Stoner was good at PI on the Duc but besides that they have been very hit or miss, mostly miss as the long super fast sweepers is still their bugaboo. This year the Duc has been good on almost all the tracks, PI will tell on them f they still have a mid corner turn issue.

But the Yamaha's are even worse than last years, they were a disaster at Motegi.

Dovi has never been good at PI on the Ducati, and he was rarely good at PI on the Honda or Yamaha too. Look at AD vs AI in 2015 for an illustration.

I was remiss, Cal HAS played a role in the constructors title, Dani has done nothing for the team title and Honda will more than likely win it.
