Redding was lapping just a few seconds slower than Nick & Val's quickest laps. That's good considering he's never been on anything larger than a 600.

He's never raced anything larger than a 600. He has spent time 'dicking around on a superbike' to quote a member of the team.

If this is true, this is a very bold move from Vale, I think. Respect to him for having the balls for making a move which could potentially cause his legacy even more harm (maybe more harm than Ducati). Next year we will see:

a. Vale IS the GOAT

b. Vale is Lorenzo's whipping boy

c. More excuses

d. Mysteriously, Jorge's bike is slower than 2012

Personally, I think it's gonna be b and c. We shall see.........................

i still hav big hopes on rossi...but that doesnt mean he'l take the title next season.atleast he'll have much better results.with the retirement of stoner, motogp is again gonna get less interesting. But a wild guess is that, next season, jorge and bradl is gonna fight hard with rossi.jz like stoner rossi does. And dats what we always wanted in the motogp! If we had one more tight rival for jorge juz like stoner did, this year's wud hav been lil more interesting.

Haters keep hating.others keep hope it gets better.

I don't think this is much of a surprise, nor do I think Rossi should be criticized for the decision. His GP career is probably in late stages and this gives him his best and probably only opportunity to find the sharp end again. He fulfilled his obligation to Ducati and it was hardly fruitful absent compensation. I would have liked to see him stay and make the Ducati work, that would have been great to see, but perhaps unlikely.

That being said, I don't think he'll beat Lorenzo enough to win another championship. He'll do quite well but I think Lorenzo should be the favorite until Marquez is up to proper speed in 2014.

Encouraging for Redding, but hardly a sign of a decent bike, Nicky and Hector have proven its ok for one lap. And Mugello flatters Ducati.

Otherwise it's great news if Rossi is heading back to Yamaha, it was a mistake to go to Ducati, most of us said it when it happened in 2010. They've yet to provide changes since January and will continue to be uncompetative next year, I doubt Audi will show much interest without Rossi on board. And Rossi has little time left in Motogp, best to be on a competative bike and the M1 is the best choice.

I feel a bit sorry for Dovi - he deserved that ride. He has busted his balls this season so far. But I suppose it aint really about sport, its about money. Vale on a Yamaha will bring people back to the show. Dovi on the Yam would create little interest for the average punter. I guess its no big surprise that Ezy wasn't kidding.

It's not like he never been on factory bike in the past. He had been on factory Honda for 2 year's but he didn't do any thing out of extra ordinary.

Same can be said for Rossi. Not like he hasn't been on a factory bike in the past. He has been on a factory Ducati for 2 year's but he didn't do any thing out of extra ordinary. Actually he wasn't even ordinary. But yet he deserves a Factory ride?

9 world titles, 100+ race wins, 4 titles with Yamaha, 3 with Honda. Nothing out of the ordinary on a factory bike? Are you inept?

WTF??? in 2011 he came 3rd in the championship behind stoner and Lorenzo but ahead of Pedrosa. You could say from those results he was more deserving to keep the HRC ride than Pedrosa. Dovi got dumped on imo.

Dovi had 3 years on a factory honda for 1 win. I don't see him beating jorge or contending for a championship on any bike. Not that he isn't worthy and good etc, just not jorge or valentino good.

I think Pedrosa missed few races due to injury in 2011 season.

It looks like that Yamaha have different opinion then yours and see things beyond last 2 seasons.
