I have lots of things going on so I don't get down about a situation beyond my control. It bugs me but what can I do? Hope for the best. The pendulum swings at it's own rate.

Looks like you're coming out of your funk, eh. Keep you head up, its got to get better for Suzuki, hell it can't get much worse, eh.
Was nodding my head in agreement too compa. It seems we have more sense here than dorna.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gsfan @ Jul 31 2009, 05:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>The only alternative to intermediates is cut slicks which like every other craftsman specialty is likely a dying art. I for one can't believe the tire balances but I don't know much about it. Running an unobtainium machine on hacked up slicks is ridiculous anyway. I totally agree that intermediates should be available and in unlimited quantity just like rain tires. This year millions of dollars in equipment replacement is solely due to the lack of intermediate tire availability and what is the cost ratio there? >1000:1? What is the cheapest and safest alternative? In any one of the slick shod rain accidents a riders career could be over because of a broken wrist. I love the mixed up wet races every once in a while just to see some mayhem. But to see a guy racing around at 50% of the machines capacity with only either a full wet or full dry tire is kind of lame. This year brings home example after example why the racing, safety and machine part wastage comparison to a lack of intermediate tire is undeniable. I thought Dorna was all about cost control?

Crap just to be different I should disagree in a wat but I simply can't - my opinion is much the same - we need intermediates for a number of reasons (safety and tactical).

But, and correct me by all means - weren't intermediates dropped as a concession for the flag-to-flag as it was thought by DORNA (or as I prefer Carmelo Ecclestone) to result in a better show?

flag to flag was first used in 2006 @ PI and there were no tyre restrictions then. inters were used and available. IIRC marco did that powerslide out the last corner on intermediates. AFAIK it only became wets or drys when the tyre numbers were cut in 2007. even then though, once it rained in practice or quali, restrictions were off and you could use anything.

Randy sums it well, it was a .... up of the most immense proportions! The other contenders may have crashed, but falling a lap behind mid-race is same/worse than crashing-no? Certainly more embarrassing.....Stoner and Nicky could have been lapped in the 250 race!

No gamble, just a silly .... up...how they recover from here should prove to be interesting though....
