Lorenzo's intervention in Rossi's appeal denied

I think Jorge is well within his rights to place the appeal.

Amazingly that the guilty party in this, Rossi, is allowed to appeal when it is as clear as day what he did in Sepang. Yet Lorenzo is the petulant one.

It's ......... Rossi should have been stripped off his points meaning that they went into the final race with an equal opportunity. With all the mind games that Rossi has been pulling, everyone will be getting out of his way and even Marquez may think twice about battling Rossi in case it's construed as playing into Lorenzo's hand.

Marquez should just come out and say, "Yes I don't want Rossi to win and if he tries to go past me I'll try to prevent it" which to be fair he should be doing anyway under his contract to race for Honda and not another team.

I'll put something out there, and it may get shot down:

Is it possibly that JLo wanted himself or his representatives at this meeting to witness first hand the proceedings? I'm not doubting for one second that his PRIMARY objective is to handicap Rossi as much as possible, bu could it also be that he knows Rossi's influence over the sport and fears that for totally unjustified reasons, Rossi's appeal is accepted?

I think that's a very good point. The whitewash after Sepang was hard to believe and certainly all the commentators beforehand would never have imagined that Rossi would have received such a mild slap like that. I can understand him wanting to be present or ensure that it had a bit more control than an event that either involved Rossi threatening people behind closed doors, bribing people or clapping his hands together with a pleading "me so sorry".

I think they play is to try calm the situation down a bit, re-iterate to riders to ride their own races, and not to say or do things to inflame the situation. At least that should be the intent, and they should still have the press conference....

Either way, I think JLo making his submission to CAS wont help calm the situation at all. He could have stayed on the high ground but instead chose to be petty and inflame the situation further. I wont be surprised if Iannone become JLo's biggest pest on track during practice and qualifying....after all if JLo can get involved in the Rossi/MM spat then why can't Iannone and the rest of the field....

Even if Rossi does start at the back of the field....JLo may find that no one between the back of the field to 6th gets seriously in Rossi's way come the start of the Race...[/QUOTE]

No one would have gotten in his way anyway. They would have, and will, just melt away and he'll ride right through them.

why is everyone assuming that Lorenzo wanted to knobble Rossi's appeal ,if the details haven't been released I'm guessing the opposite, sure with Rossi starting from the back of the grid Jorge is favourite to take the championship, but it would be a hollow win, I'm betting JL was hoping to sway any verdict in Rossis favour. Now if JL were to start from the back of the grid voluntarily, that would be something for the history books ! hes got the pace to beat Rossi at the moment , and if he doesnt Its still one for the records

J-Lo dont give a rats ... about what Rossi fans think of his championship. He made it perfectly clear that he thought Rossi should have been disqualified and he should be holding a nine point lead instead of a 7 point deficit. Anyone not wearing the yellow blindfold thinks the same. Had RD acted properly, Rossi would be starting from his qualifying spot and down by 9 points.
