Lorenzo's intervention in Rossi's appeal denied

He has shown he is one of very few who will learn from his mistakes. Make one, then never repeat it. I wish a few more would follow his lead. He has shown himself to be the only one of the top 4 with any maturity in this whole .... show. Well done DP.

Hm.... I hate going 31 on people but this is a severe case so I hope jorge is successful.

#nocondomnovember

This year Dani has really grown on me, especially after seeing "Hitting the Apex". I think this was a ..... move by JL but I still want him to move.

Propa, what's with all the has tags?!

So any bets on the outcome of Rossi's appeal.
Personally I think it will fail, as CAS generally deals with doping, contracts and general ability to compete, internal matters that are resolvable within a sporting body are not really their bag. That said, I'm probably wrong. And VR can go all Human Rights....

I think the appeal will be rejected. What is still unclear in this story is why the press conference for Valencia was cancelled and replaced with an internal meeting. I am sure they could have done this meeting another time and still have the press conference. What can be the play here?

I think they play is to try calm the situation down a bit, re-iterate to riders to ride their own races, and not to say or do things to inflame the situation. At least that should be the intent, and they should still have the press conference....

Either way, I think JLo making his submission to CAS wont help calm the situation at all. He could have stayed on the high ground but instead chose to be petty and inflame the situation further. I wont be surprised if Iannone become JLo's biggest pest on track during practice and qualifying....after all if JLo can get involved in the Rossi/MM spat then why can't Iannone and the rest of the field....

Even if Rossi does start at the back of the field....JLo may find that no one between the back of the field to 6th gets seriously in Rossi's way come the start of the Race...

I'll put something out there, and it may get shot down:

Is it possibly that JLo wanted himself or his representatives at this meeting to witness first hand the proceedings? I'm not doubting for one second that his PRIMARY objective is to handicap Rossi as much as possible, bu could it also be that he knows Rossi's influence over the sport and fears that for totally unjustified reasons, Rossi's appeal is accepted?

Ant West will for starters ;)

But no I think you're right.

Hopefully they will all be asked to sign a new code of conduct constraining them to some kind of internal dispute resolution before using press conferences for expressing their view on RD decisions and/or hurling accusations at their opponents or generally rat-shitting the value of the MotoGP brand.

Agreed. I made a similar point in #19 of this thread.

Sorry bud, I was reading through most of this thread last night and only posted this morning, sleep eh!

Was it Valencia 2012 that started wet and ol' Asparagus lead for a lap or so on the CRT bike?

If that was the case, why not request open proceedings? It is not really JLo's business. He may be affected by the outcome but he is in no way a side in the matter.

It's an arbitration process to resolve the dispute between Rossi and the FIM. It's a standardised CAS process with a detailed set of strict rules, one of which being that the proceedings and the Award are confidential. It's not a hearing, it's not public. The option of Intervention pursued by Lorenzo's lawyers is a provision of the standard CAS process.

The only correction I would add (if I may)

Pedrosa I reckon is the cleanest in terms of the top 4

Serious here, aside from that ONE incident that will live on until we populate mars, has he ever taken anyone else out?

That's fair.... Dani an JL are 2 of the cleanest.

I cannot recall..... which is strange to be honest.

Says the guy who voted for Dubya twice[/QUOT
Yet he is more popular than the spineless gimp O

Popular??? With who? Even his closest associates from Wash. have distanced themselves from him. Once they were finished using him, they hung him out to dry like a second hand condom in a Cambodian whore house. I've seen Cheney twice on news programs basically saying George was a moron. But lets not go there. Politics always gets ugly and twice as much so on the internet.
