Lorenzo sign with HRC

So where does this leave Petronas Monster Yamaha? Even though it's being reported as a Jlo/HRC done deal, not official yet, any chance of some other major development? Two weeks ago it looked like Lorenzo was headed to forced retirement, today it's a Honda vs Yamaha tug of war.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

Morbidelli is supposed to go there.
Maybe Pedrobot will get the other seat.

For the culture part I find even more disturbing the next quote

""I have the impression that Gigi [Dall'Igna, technical boss], Paolo [Ciabatti, sporting director] and Davide [Tardozzi, team manager] wanted me to stay. But I do not hold a grudge.”"

So the directly involved parties do not get to decide about what's best for the team, but someone higher-up.

The Honda can turn, something the Ducati does not do well. Also the Honda does not need the aero faring as much to get on with the business. The adaptation Jorge has made, will only help him get on quicker with the Honda

Thanks, that's encouraging news. As someone else said, roll on 2019, though I do wonder if Jorge will pull out the stops on the Ducati as a big F You to Ducati.

As another person said, HRC should be able to tap Jorge up nicely for some very useful intel on Yamaha and Ducati.

Lorenzo thinks Ducati is sad to see him go after he has given them 1 win for his 12M Euro salary? Not 1 Championship... but 1 win on a track that suited the bike.

Ok, he got the fuel tank he wanted... lets see him earn that salary and get a string of wins.

That's really short-term thinking. Plus, JL is not 100% at fault for this, and it's becoming clear now.

It's not short-term thinking. It's way too early to declare JL's struggles on the Duc completely cured since he got a reshaped fuel tank. Lets see what he does in the next few races. If he's back racing for 10th vs Rabat... then what's the excuse? Oh Lorenzo not trying anymore! He's sticking it to Ducati!

I call ......... Easy to say I wasn't wining because they didn’t give me this that bla bla. Sounds like Cuntslow, and like Yamaha's riders, whining and making excuses. For perspective, the year old inferior Tech 3 Yamaha almost won coming a close 2nd, the other Ducati was winning, including a runners up by its satellite.

Do you think 2 years old info on the m1 is going to be very useful to HRC?

What makes you think keeping Lorenzo would have been good for the team. Up until this weekend Lorenzo was embarrassing.

Which is what Ducati said to Capirossi, Melandri and Hayden in 2007-2010.

I didn't say anything on this, I'm merely pointing out that if what JL said holds true, it's questionable that a higher-up vetoes ,when all of the managers & directors of the TEAM wanted him to stay.

I've also heard of that. We're talking about Claudio, right? Because I shitcanned Stefano as someone said that he was the one who vetoed. Don't want to be unjust :p

On the plus side, this means Marco Melandri will not have to race for food next year.

I would expect you to appreciate the difference, firstly considering they were compared to Stoner, secondly (and perhaps firstly) the machine was far more idiosyncratic than the current evolution, which Iannone also scored a win on and had multiple podium finishes by BOTH factory and satellite riders. Lorenzo's lack of performance was unacceptable, and even if we are to use his own words, the current iteration is a race winner compared to 2010 and before. You really want to hang your hat on this point? I'm surprised frankly.
