Lorenzo sign with HRC

Will be very interesting in seeing how accommodating HRC is with George. He is a picking little sort.

Has anyone won a race on three different MFG?

What's up, good to see you posting again.

HRC have two sharks, I think we can put to rest Honda giving Marc's camp veto powers. I think JLo will be supported as he has considerable clout: champ, Spanish, outspoken, etc.

Yes.

Thanks.. I typically take the off season off.. And wait for some new juicy bits to jump on..

Crazy as .... silly season.. I hope Pedro goes to KTM or Aprillia to help build those programs. He still has value there.

You know what, this might just be Puig trying to pull some power away from M/S Alzamora and Márquez sr.

This is counted as an aftershock and correlated consequence of the 2015 Debacle. Yamaha decided on selling t-shirts instead of winning titles; they won't be printing championship logos for a long time.

How to do business 101: if you have the only guy that can beat the main competitor, piss him off enough until he joins said competitor.

And sign him for a bargain in the process.

Yamaha Corp made an error in allowing the team principals to make a short sighted decision, normally corps think long term, this was a failure. They (racing team management) never dreamed Lorenzo might end up as a factory Honda rider, something Corporate management typically would normally forsee as a possibility. Corporations think long term, thanks Lin Jarvis, you royally ...... Yamaha.

I'm reading they signed him before he won in Mugello for about 4m. Less than what he was on and offered at Yamaha IIRC. Not to mention he now has valuable experience on Hondas competitors that he could use to improve the RCV.

Lin Jarvis is an ...... This is a guy who let Uccio take over the garage at Argentina and hid on the side like he wasn't even team principal. He has no long range thinking ability to consider the ramifications of what he does. When Yamaha Japan had to step in over that, it tells you how much weight he really carries in that team.

Well the .... mustard clown fans are now jumping for joy. Those ........ vr46 fans will be booing much more louder on a two for one ticket. Lets see if carmelo can grow a pair of balls & tell dipshit vr46 to reeling his .... support fans.

Umm, I'm not sure about this. Jorge has just adapted his style to suit the Ducati after riding the crap out of the Yamaha. Will it be as easy to flip to a Honda style?

I'm not as well versed on the bikes as many on this forum are but is the Honda an easier bike to ride?

I like Marquez but would he genuinely welcome a credible opponent in Lorenzo if the bike is easy to work with? Pedrosa was a nice guy but he wasn't the kind of threat that a pumped up Jorge would be.

Do you think Honda are wanting a balance between exciting crazy man with an impressive talent and a consistent, metronomic 'safer' man with an impressive talent?

The Honda can turn, something the Ducati does not do well. Also the Honda does not need the aero faring as much to get on with the business. The adaptation Jorge has made, will only help him get on quicker with the Honda

Have we ever seen a bigger F-you to a MFG like this before? Zarco to KTM & Jorge to HRC. Seems like lord Puig has a few numbers for vr farty6 & yamaha

I'm reminded of Alberto Puig's reaction when Lin Jarvis let Lorenzo go. Undoubtedly Puig must have been thinking Christmas come early. This is a major development in MotoGP. The balance of power has been .... away by Yamaha. You can't blame Ducati, they gave Jorge a shot, didn’t work out. This also highlights Suzuki's commitment to GP, status quo for them. It also highlights Honda's approach ... the Evil Empire, though in this case this fell on their lap.

If jarvis & company still have a job at yamaha past 2019, if they make it to then. You know something is really wrong with that MFG.

So where does this leave Petronas Monster Yamaha? Even though it's being reported as a Jlo/HRC done deal, not official yet, any chance of some other major development? Two weeks ago it looked like Lorenzo was headed to forced retirement, today it's a Honda vs Yamaha tug of war.
