Not a fan of his music. I didn't believe a mate when he told me DLR had become a EMT... and Mr Google popped up the quotes...

DLR does seem to have his head screwed on correctly.

Little sidetrack off topic here, Van Halen's 2012 album (a different kind of truth) is the best album I've heard by anyone in the last few years.

DLR's autobio is amazing, very skilled and smart dude with an amazing attitude to life. I'm about to post a clip in the watcha listening to.

I don't think Stoner retiring had anything to do with the amount of money he has, or lack of public adulation. Personally I don't think he gives a .... about either !!

We know Honda offered him huge money to stay, so clearly he's not motivated by money.

I have just been in Spain, and you don't realise what massive stars Lorenzo, Pedro and Marquez are in Spain. They will never be poor, or be short of something to do. Lorenzo would constantly have other oportunities in front of him, and maybe he is getting to a similar point as Stoner where he has achiveved what he wanted, is getting tired of the ........, and is thinking about moving on to something different.

I met Troy Bayliss few weeks ago, and he also said he wouldn't be surprised to see Stoner back on a bike at some time, depending on what happens with car racing.

Is 27 the new 37 for young men who have spent most of their life in leathers and racetrack paddocks?

I think this is a key point - for me there's definately been a change in terms of at what age the younger guys now start competing seriously and professionally compared to the past. I mean, if you look at some of the kids (and they are kids) in Moto3, by the time they reach 27 they've been racing professionally (with all the travel, pressure, media and meetings that come along with it) for over 10 years. That's a long time to have to deal with it all, in order to race. I can understand why the idea of retirement to a nice normal life with your health, some wealth and without too many worries might sound appealing on the days when you're dragging yourself out of bed.

Angel Nieto - retired two years after his 13th world championship and 90th win, at age 39.

I think it was just that he had no more room for trophies on the hacienda walls

Lorenzo was a guest on stage Thursday with the legendary Giacomo Agostini at the Yamaha booth at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in Milan. He was asked how much longer he would race, probably in light of Casey Stoner's stunning retirement after this season at age 27.

"I'll take two more years, and then we'll see," Lorenzo said. "At age 15, it's all very funny, but then this bag becomes routine. The death of Marco Simoncelli, it was a blow to all, made us think that it could happen to us, but we know that the risk is part of the sport."

Lorenzo will be 27 at the end of the 2014 season - the same age as Stoner when he retired. Is 27 the new 37 for young men who have spent most of their life in leathers and racetrack paddocks?

that's a good, I think he's gonna start a new life after retirement. maybe he'll married at 27, and raise a family as normal people
