Lewis Hamilton

People said that about Nico Rosberg...he didn't have much success last year! I really do hope he will but i've got a feeling he isn't going to live up to everyone's expectations. I feel he's going to win a race or two this season but do nothing big! Then again it took Button a whole 113 races to get his first win, in his 5th or 6th season in Formula 1...but he's in a Honda not a McLaren.

It all depends on what you expect from him. I expect him to stand on the podium a couple of times. And i expect him to learn from his mistakes relatively quickly.

Well I was talking about Lewis, being a bit patriotic. However, I recall the Race of Champions a couple of years back. Both are extreme natural talents, time for a new guard?

Sure, but did you watch the GP2 series last year? He was just phenominal at times.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Heikki entered the Race of Champions and beat some good, solid drivers didn't he? I think he also beat Coutlhard didn't he?

He beat Schuey, when Schuey was unbeatable!

Yeah Heikki's done well there but Formula 1 is a bit different to that.

By the way the Race of Champions is at Wembley this year!

Yes but you're still driving a car that has 4 wheels and against very talented drivers. Just because he beats Schuey in RoC and not F1 doesn't mean given the same car that he can't do it in F1.

We don't know maybe he can do it in F1 hopefully we'll find out soon enough!

But im just saying that he won the Race of Champions in what cars?
Citroen Xsara Rally Car, Renault Megane car and a couple of others and yes this took some serious skill but these cars do not have the speed of F1 cars.

Who cares what speed the car goes at? Fine, F1 is a whole different ball game to racing a Citroen Xsara rally car around a small indoor track at pretty slow speeds, but it still takes a lot of skill, concentration and composure to beat Schuey! F1 or not F1!

The thing is the RoC is a bit of a game and nobody really cares. Do you honestly think that Shuey would lose if he applied himself, he just wouldn't. And F1 is totally different, the line of perfection is way thinner and the time to make decisions is less, being an F1 world champion and the RoC champion are not really comparible

Still, Heikki beat Schuey in the same car game.

Schuey isn't really one to lose on purpose though is he?

Schumacher was overrated anyway he had the best car on the grid for all 7 of his titles. I'm not saying he was bad coz he was a great driver but Alonso, Raikkonnen and who knows maybe Hamilton and Heikki are better.

Shuey stands out from normal drivers with his rediculous dedication, commitment and willingness to take any advantage he can get. I don't think he would take the time out of his normal life to bother with any of that in RoC, afterall is a leisurely drive and not worth being stressed over. And its not like he has much to prove.

Dont wanna take anything away from Heikki, fairplay to the man for winning it. But i truly believe if Shuey really wanted to he could win that competition.

And one of them was rightfully Damon Hill's...

You're kidding right???

If you're serious, then you really don't know much about F1 and Michael Schumacher. MS is one of the best drivers ever and definitely the best of his era, no doubts about that. He's definitely better than Kimi and Fernando. Kimi isn't a complete driver like MS, not even close. FA comes closer to MS than KR imo. Still we can't say Fernando is better, that's simply ridiculous (and quite hilarious too!!
<
). I'm not even going to start about Lewis and Heikki, they didn't even drive one F1 race. They're talented for sure, but they're not MS.

Ow, something else..you said MS had the best car everytime he won a title. Isn't that mostly the case in F1???? The one who wins usually has the best car. Schumacher only had a dominant car in 2002 and 2004. The other years ferrari wasnt that dominant.

I totally agree Tom!!!

I totally agree Tom!!!

Shuey moved to Ferarri and developed their pile of .... into a champion. Before him they were lost and he basically ran that team. In my opinion MS is the best driver ever in any form of car racing

Finally someone seems to understand it!!

I'm not going to say he's the best ever, cause I don't think we can decide who the best one is, but I do think he belongs in the all time top 3 and like said before he's without a doubt the best of his era!

People seem to forget Ferrari was CRAP when he came, but he turned that around. He worked really hard and it paid off. I guess I can't blame people who started watching f1 after 99. They saw MS dominating and immediately thought..''ow, its only the car''.

I will miss him this season to be honest. Cause when I started watching f1 (94) he was driving for benetton. It will be weird to watch f1 without him, but, either way, I can't wait for the season to start!!!!

No, its called an opinion, and everyones entitled to one. Doesn't mean his knowledge of F1 is lacking.

Of course Schumi was one of the best ever. Some will say he was the best, some will say he was overrated. Isn't that the whole point of these forums, to share our opinions? Just because someones is different to yours I don't think its fair to say he 'doesn't know much about F1'. In fact I think its quite childish, with all due respect.

Nothing personal or anything Franco I just didn't think that was a very fair thing to say.

I know it's nothing personal

Cause that would be sad Tom.....

I never said someone couldn't have his/her own opinion.
We obviously all have our own opinion and that's a great thing!

Still I think it's really really weird to say MS is overrated, but hey..like you said ''we all have our opinion''
<
I just happen to disagree..

Anyway, back on topic. I think Lewis is the most talented young driver since Kimi. The difference is I think he has the determination to take him further than Kimi has (so far) gone. The whole Fernando Alonso situation could work for or against him depending how he handles things mentally.

This is where Ron Dennis comes into play, we dont want another Micheal Andretti! I hope things go ok..
