Lewis Hamilton

he will do alright. Might be able to win a race, but not a championship contender

Last years gp2 world champion (f1 feeder series). He has moved into the Mclaren F1 team alongside Alonso and he is ver very fast. Also the first black formula one driver in history.

like you say he may win a race or two but im not even sure about that. Alonso could make him look very bad though if he is winning consistantly.

Was Karthikeian white then?

I dunnu who that is, but the comentators seemed to interested in the prospect of him driving f1 because he'd be the first black guy to do it.

just checked up, and this guy is clearly Indian, not black.

I believe he's going to be realy, realy good!!! I don't know about the wins, I don't think so. And I'm allso glad that F1 finally has black driver.

I'm a Kimi fan, but I hate ferrari, so Hamilton is my second choice just to stay in touch with McLaren.

And what colour is his skin? As good as black.

Hamilton is whiter than karthikeyian.

I do believe Lewis has one white parent and one black parent but i couldnt be sure. But being Indian is not black. Not that it matters, a driver is a driver is a driver as far as i am concerned

I would love to see Lewis win a race this year (since he's my 2nd favourtie driver), but I'm also not too sure. I guess it also depends on how his car will perform and obviously it won't be easy to beat Fernando Alonso. I don't think people expect him to do that anyway. After all Fernando is the champ and Lewis is ''only'' a rookie, so it's not exactly realistic to expect that. This season will be an important learning process for Hamilton. I'm sure he will do a good job and that he will reach podium finishes on occasions.

did anyone see that programme on ITV last night about young Hamilton ?

seems like a nice genuine likeable talented extremely rich spawny little ....... to me

good luck to him

I saw bits of it, and i agree, hes a nice bloke and a solid racer. I wish him well.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mclaren

Alonso for the title

We've been discussing him in the F1 thread a bit so i'll just go voer some things I posted in there.

Firstly he could be the next Nico Rosberg. GP2 champion - looks like the next big thing and he blows it in Formula 1.
Secondly he could be the next Fernando Alonso of Formula 1, and being on the podium quite often and bagging a respectable position in the championship.
I do not think that Hamilton will win a race in his first year but will be on the podium quite a few times. I can't see him beating Alonso or Raikkonen and he'll be lucky to put one over Massa, Button and Fisichella. I do however think that Heikki Kovalainen is his main rivel for this season, they'll both want to do better than each other!

Nico Rosberg is still very promising for the future. He is still pretty young and definately in the early stages of his career. I wouldn't say hes blown untill we saw him in a decent car.

I agree, there will be a certain amount of rivalry here, but i wouldn't be at all surprised if he got the measure of it. I reckon will mix it up with Button and Fisi on his better days. Buttons days as media favorite are numbered

Like Tom already said we can't say he has blown it in F1 so far. Actually I would say he did a very good job last season. I think it's difficult to judge him, cause he didn't have a very good car. So, nobody expected miracles.

I would love to see Lewis win a race this season, but I guess I shouldn't expect too much. He's a rookie and he FA is his teammate. In order to win he'll have to beat Fernando and also the Ferrari's I think (and maybe also the Renault..dunno how strong they will be).

For sure there will be some kind of rivalry between Lewis and Heikki, but it will be hard to compare them if there's a huge gap between mclaren and Renault. To be honest, I really have no idea what to expect from Renault. I'm sure they will have a fast car, but I think Mclaren and Ferrari will be on top. Guess we'll find out soon enough!!! Only 5 more days!!!

I'm sooooo excited!!!!!

Exactly! All his hype over Hailton leaves no room for Heikki Kovalainen who is also going to be a big hitter! I've got to say, from what i've heard from him in testing and friday sessions - I think he's going to finish ahead of Hamilton in the drivers championship if the car performs to his standard!

Wouldn't it be something if he came in and shook the place apart. I've just got a funny feeling he will.
