Rossi is on the same/slightly better pace as Jorge on one of JL's strong tracks. I think Ducati has almost caught up with Yam in speed (VR on the same pace as JL and Nicky on the same pace as Spies).

Lorenzo has an injured hand, he probably did well just to finish, So I wouldn't count too much into it yet but Rossi was there to capitalize on it.

Congrats to Rossi, nice to see him working hard.

Feel sorry for Pedrosa, altough I am not sure that the panishment for Simoncelli was correct. As it looked to me, Dani stood up before hiting Simo, not sure why.

Aggresive passes by Lorenzo, especially in the beggining over Dovi, he lost the right to critisize any other rider for aggresive racing.

There goes Pedrosa's chances for the championship. Too bad.

This shows that the lighter riders have a real disadvantage being too fragile. I think any of the bigger riders (VR, Sic or Spies) would have walked away from that crash. How are the proponents of weight penalty going to account for this?

My two cents:

Stupid move from Sic, Pedrosa had no room to go, it could only end in tears. I feel bad for Dani.

Still, the penalty was uncalled for. I believe this was a case of the race direction using the opportunity to set an example that recent claims of partisanship are unfounded.

Good podium for Rossi, but let's face it: if it weren't for Simonchelli, he'd finished 5th (and that's not accounting for Yamaha's horrible weekend) and he was 14+ seconds off the leader. Still a long way to go.

Stoner was perfect. I liked the fact that the marshals pushed him home in the pit-lane and padding his back with congratulations, regardless of his complaints after the Jerez-incident and punching their fellow countryman in WUP. Also liked that Stoner seemed to be genuinely concerned for Dani's championship chances. You get the feeling that Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo have a strong sense of sportsmanship when it comes to that, they all seem to want to win in an honest fight.

Not so sure. But VR was doing 1.34.3s comfortably in the first half of the race which was faster than JLs practice times (I guess around mid-to high 34s)

Dani stood up because there was no more room. There was nothing he could have done to avoid that crash.

One would have thought there was no other "reality" than that would you? ....... but then out comes Reg. with his theory

Rossi was just asked about the accident and he basically said it was Simoncelli's mistake and Pedrosa couldn't do anything.

Wait, so this wasn't just racing? Not a racing incident?

I think Sic made a bad move, sure, but we've seen plenty of those. So now, from this point on, we can assume race direction will start handing out penalties? I would welcome it. Its about time. Can they hand some out retroactively?

Yes the Hondas are faster than Rossi (except may Dovi who is of similar pace to VR). But how could you discount Rossi finishing higher than Jorge on Yamaha's horrible weekend? Rossi improved nearly 1 sec over his practice times during the race. Yes the podium was fluke but finishng ahead of JL is not!!

He's gonna be a cripple when he's older...

Not really. He'll have some aches and pains when he gets into his 50s but as long as he keeps fit

he'll be fine. I've fractured (not completely broken) both collar bones, both wrists, fractured 4

vertabrae in my lower back, completely broken my hip, suffered an A/B separation in my

left shoulder, chipped rotator cuff in the other and torn meniscus in my left knee. And

believe me I've never been in the kind of good shape that Dani is in.

Yeah Lorenzo hasn't been mentioned much considering what a rash move he made.

Dovizioso said Lorenzo just outbraked himself and had nowhere else to go but on the inside. He said such things happen and does not consider the move unfair or dangerous.

People say Dani stood the bike up, but that was only AFTER sic closed the door and dani's front wheel touched sic's leathers..... Def sic fault for closing the door with pedrosa no where to go .

Fortunately he has 3 weeks to get back into a reasonable shape. But definitely, now the championship is going to be uphill climb for him. Sic just proved that other guys are right about him. Jorge just showed he what a hypocrite he is about safe and non-contact racing

Why?
