Here's hoping his troubles are more crew related than talent related. He's suffered a spate of issues that were not his fault.

Even if he doesn't set the world on fire - there's always 2011 with the big-boy bikes. Got the fingers crossed.

Dude, you have got to quit smoking dope, or change your name to Rip Van Winkle

Nicky in P4 after Q2?

I want to get excited, but he hasn't figured out how to make the fuel computer work so I'm going to take a wait and see approach.

I hope Spies goes back to WSBK. He is one of the best superbikers of all time, and he should make his mark instead of withering away in the fuel-limited MotoGP paddock. Yamaha can hire Simoncelli.

Lorenzo and Simoncelli on the same team will be quite amusing.

Your a sadist!

first id like to say nice fking time from stoner.....

missed the sessions but will watch later on motogp....

hopefully when i watch rossi's after thoughts i wont hear about the dam shoulder if i do im gonna headbutt my monitor

Honda Fest possibly........I didn't think JL would be so consistently off the pace here, however it is very early and Stoner has done this pretty much for 4 years now on Friday. Pedders and Sic will be right there though barring any 'incidents'......

Ducks look ..... again, Nicky's was a one lap wonder in a procession of 1.5-2 seconds off the pace. Seems as though the bike doesn't like the heat too much? Either that or VR not using the new rubber, you have to wonder why this didn't happen?? I watched a montage of Rossi moments in FP1, including 2 very near high-sides and two or three front end loses, one of which he nearly fell off the bike!

Well done to Colin and Hiroshi, you can't help but feel this could be their best day of the weekend though......

we all know who the "....." is now

This is practice pinky, no jinxing thanks.

Whatever valentino can be accused of, a ..... he is not. Whether he should call other people so is another question, but he is one of the toughest sportsman in history; over a decade at the pinnacle of this, one of the harder sports, says so.

It is starting to look as though the ducati is so idiosyncratic that even rossi can't meld with it. He has adapted to all previous bikes, but this is very different in character than all previous bikes he has ridden. Stoner is obviously quite fast on anything, but he is not blowing the field or his team-mates away by 1 - 1.5 seconds as he did when he and the ducati were in harmony.

I am looking to the 2012 ducati being quite different in design, and rossi being rather fast on it. Lorenzo won the last championship fair and square, but even injured rossi wasn't far off his pace late in the season, and lorenzo is a genius bike rider; it seems unlikely that rossi has suddenly lost his talent since then.

I do occasionally make a mistake like that when stealing a few harried seconds between customers at the shop to type in a quick reply to some post. Tell you what... tho.. I'll take heat for occasionally typing in the wrong number when you start to learn how to spell. Deal? Let me give you a head start on this. Try to learn the difference between to and too; not to mention your and you're. Then learn when to use 'em. After a time, we can start on grammar and punctuation. Before you know it I'll have you a readin' and a writin' like the big boys

injured this injured that. end of day losing by 0.1 seconds per lap, over race distance thats a 3 second loss.

rossi may not of lost his talent, but the next generation certainly has upped the standard. whilst rossi talent was enough to fend of loris, max, carlos et al, the likes of lorenzo, stoner, pedrosa and now simicelli, well its just too much.

I feel bad for de Puniet. If he'd be still be on the LCR he could have had a very nice home race.

Havent read all thread, so if somebody has mentioned it, but commentators were talking about Crutchlow having to drain his arm between sessions. WTF, that dude is a trooper.

I'd all like to give kudos to Bautista. I still cringe watching him in practices.

if stoner keeps this up for the race he'll lap the field to the top 6

while having a ....
