Just watching qualifying session 2. Wet maybe more than yesterday.
So it's going to be sleepless weekend for me.

Entry list

Qualifying times
diesels too strong

and here's why Loeb doesn't want to drive

Go Peugeot!!!

On pole!!!

Allez les 908!!

Seems they are the faster cars, but they've had serious reliability problems with their gearboxes.

Petrol cars getting their ..... seriously kicked lol!

I'm usually with Pescarolo... well this time too, but it's going to be between Audi and Peugeot, and I choose Peugeot, just because it's time for Audi to get beaten.

Le mans is an event that used to be so great, but now nobody really cares. The entry is weak and only two factories even care. And even then, they just want to parade around and show off because the rules have been written to heavily favor diesel powered cars.

Might turn out to be a pretty good race. I'm rooting for Peugoet on this one, would be nice to see Audi beaten for once at Le Mans.

you're probably right, but it (the race) just grabs me somehow

I've not watched it since Mercedes were flying, and i wont start watching it until it gets some decent factories back in to compete with Audi.

But what an event that was. Mercedes Hellicopter, how cool is that! I watched the most spectacular crash live on TV and I could hardly belive my eyes. If they came up with similar stunts again I would start watching again

Rain!!! Weather is playing games with them.

I think there's more action in two laps than in 4 F1 races together.

oh, dear, I'm loosing my mind

audi crashed!!!

ok, I'll give up posting now

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Why not? I think audi is better, but anything can happen. Race has already been pretty messy, and it's just 3,5 hours old. Can't imagine what's going to be when night falls.

Martin Haven on Motors TV is going to comment all 24 hours!!!

It seems Audi has this one in the pocket, leading 1 and 2, they're faster than Peugeot and one of the Peugeots is already out of contention with a mechanical problem.

Maybe.. but its one of those races (like Monaco and the Indy 500) that even when nothing much happens, I still find it exciting because of the spectacle and history surrounding it.

Everyone thinks Im mad for staying up all night and watching it though.

You're mad

. I can appreciate the history and spectacle of the event, but when it is so far seperated from its glorious history and the spectacle has almost completely gone it seems like a boring race to me.

Folks. it's not all about the race, in fact far from it. From what I hear, this is the best 'boys' weekend you will ever have!

I did a painting of Bentley at Le Mans in 2003, commissioned by the man himself, Mr. Guy Smith, one of the 3 winning drivers.

It's funny how at exhibitions, folk seem to want to tell me their Le Mans experiences. The funniest tale I ever heard was from a chap who had been going for many, many years with male friends. Depending on the number of people going, they would take a big car or a minibus. One year there was 7 of them, so it was a bit inbetween. One of the gang managed to lay their hands on a second hand hearse, so they converted into a seven seater! It was a good idea, but they didn't take into account the amount of luggage.....so........as a compromise they put a coffin on a roof rack, and threw it all in there!!!! England, Le Mans and back!!! Apparently it was quite a trip!

Well D'uh.

WTF do you expect? It's not going to be like a Moto gp race for 24 hours.
