Laguna Seca Race Discussions

That may or may not be true, only you know what hangs on your bed post. What you did buy was the idea that dressing up like a chicken promotes Moto Gp, and not Rossi!

Believe it or not, but I didn't see him dressing up like chicken and never cared about moto gp before I saw Rossi riding in 2005...

I've seen this word "troll" used a bit on here, what does it mean?

As far as I can tell it seems to be anyone who disagrees woth a Bopper? is that correct?

100% correct BM

See for yourself from wikipedia: <<

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who tries to harass[1] by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] In addition to the offending poster, the noun “troll” can also refer to the provocative message itself, as in that was an excellent troll you posted. While the term "troll" and its associated action, trolling, are primarily associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels highly subjective, with 'trolling' being used to describe intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context.

As you can see it's obviously anyone who disagrees with the boopers.

Sniff, sniff... hello, is that the office? I'm sorry but... cough, cough... I won't be in today, I've got a... cough, cough... cold. I won't be able to perform at my top level... sniff, hack, cough, etc.

Fair enough. If there's something wrong with you then don't go to work. If you're not well, stay at home and get better. That's reasonable.

Same with a broken leg. Now that's a painful injury - and it's going to take a long time before you're anything like back to full strength, so park it up.

Mind you, if the leg feels a bit better after a few weeks and you reckon you can muddle through then that's fair enough too. After all, it'll only be you it affects - you can't infect the rest of the workplace with a broken leg.

Perhaps not - but you can show up all but two or three of them as performing woefully below par.

Let's look at this a bit more closely. Rossi's still hobbling about. He's not able to train fully yet. He's been laid up for about seven weeks. Yes, he probably is making a bit of a show out of it, with the crutches hobbling to the bike and all that (he soon forgot about the crutches in Parc Ferme, didn't he? Ho ho ho...) but then that's his prerogative. The point is that he is far, far, far from right.

Yet in America Valentino managed to get on the podium for third. And it wasn't like he had a lonely race after getting off the line well; Rossi had some scrapping to do en route.

So he finished ahead of Nicky Hayden. Ahead of Ben Spies. Ahead of Andrea Dovizioso. Ahead of Colin Edwards. Ahead of Loris Capirossi. Ahead of Alex de Angelis.

You get my point.
These are, on the whole, meant to be the cream of the crop. Up front we've got Jorge Lorenzo who, unless there is a major mishap, looks like he's going to win the title this year (although this is motorcycle racing so I'll take that back... let's just say that his season's definitely taken an upswing) and who can beat Rossi when things are level. Maybe not every time, but at least he's up to the job.

Then there's Casey Stoner; we know how good he can be. And at Honda we've got the Pedrobot who looks like he's on an all-gravel diet at the moment. And that's it.

Twelve riders finished at Laguna Seca last night. Twelve. Out of that lot nine weren't able to go faster than a man with a seriously weakened leg. A man who less than two months ago had the bone sticking out of his right limb in the Mugello gravel trap. And three of the nine were racing at home in front of a decent-enough crowd - but none of them could beat Rossi.

I know that beating Rossi is arguably the toughest job in motorcycle racing. You get the feeling that you could cut the bloke's leg off and he'd still be outrageously fast on track.

But surely, when we're constantly being told that the reason we're putting up with thin grids in the premier class is because it costs so much and these are the very best riders on the planet, then it's not out of the realms of fiction to expect them to be able to put on a decent show and get right up there.

Rossi must be laughing his head off. He went out at Sachsenring and now Laguna and they still can't duff him up and force him backwards.

Lorenzo aside, Laguna offered up one great element of the MotoGP show - and that was down to the likeable chap with the broken leg.

It's not good enough.

Didn't his team start it off in the first place playing a joke on him with the blow-up doll when he was a very young teenager in the 125 class? It was actually quite amusing at the time.

Anything is possible, I myself would have given Rossi great odds. Lorenzo is certianly on the money right now, a healthy Rossi would be on the money IMO. Sorry I know that doesn't answer your question Drill.

I`d have given him good odds too mate, like basically building an impressive lead.

Possibly closer to Stoner or in front of him, but I think Lorenzo has his measure this year.

Nextfew rounds will inform us more retrospectively.

Yes,time will tell I suppose BM,although I`m expecting Rossi to be back to the permanent podiums from Brno onwards.

Misano. That's where Rossi has decided he is going to win. If Lorenzo can stop him there, then you'll know all you need to know. Misano is Rossi's backyard, and Lorenzo winning there would basically be like calling round, ....... Rossi's girlfriend and then telling Rossi to go fetch him a beer.

Rossi winning there will basically be Rossi saying "It's OK, you can have this championship. You have my permission."

I really don't care at all Babel, I find the term "troll" idiotic and childish. Why .... mainly because those that have been crying "troll" are the worst offenders, yourself included

Its also pretty aparent that its a common ploy of Boppers whenever frustrated

Read this 3 times now and have to say I gotta agree with the way you put that in its most `basic` but simple form.
