Misano. That's where Rossi has decided he is going to win. If Lorenzo can stop him there, then you'll know all you need to know. Misano is Rossi's backyard, and Lorenzo winning there would basically be like calling round, ....... Rossi's girlfriend and then telling Rossi to go fetch him a beer.

Rossi winning there will basically be Rossi saying "It's OK, you can have this championship. You have my permission."

Well that all seems a bit ....... moot .......

....... let me put it this way isn't it more, realistically, like Lorenzo has been " ....... Rossi's girlfriend and helping himself to Rossi's beer ( the whole fridgeworth ) " .since round two. Its more like Rossi may be able to stop Lorenzo doing it in front of his mates at Misano

Besides Rossi's girlfriend has been "done over" at Misano before, why is it a big deal now?

Doubt it Tom,Curve does it in a way that is mostly inoffensive in my view.

Curve's posts are usually witty, pithy and well-informed, and I have no problem with them even though our allegiances are quite different.

Will that thence be a trigger for Lorenzo and Stoner to more doggedly stop him?

PI 09 was a simillar one Rossi had to get ...... ok it made for a great race, but it didn't take into account the "other guys" also have plans.

Matter of fact I wonder if its not the greatest oportunity for Lorenzo to "legitamise" his championship with the Boppers?

Yes.

With all due respect, Stoner was irrelevant at that point. Rossi needed points on Lorenzo, and what Stoner did was of little matter. He was well out of the running because of his hiatus.

Yes. And Lorenzo knows this.

Thats why I listed it ....... as Misano would be ...... of little point consequence for Rossi .... but great local significance ...... well PI 09 is the nearest thing I can think of.

I think Rossi felt he made his point at PI in '09. He was close enough to let Stoner know that he was there, but did not want to risk a do-or-die pass to win.

I also think that if Lorenzo did the same to Rossi, it might be a small moral victory, but at this stage in his career, Lorenzo has to clearly beat Rossi to get his point across. Losing by 0.032 seconds to Rossi will allow the Rossi fans and the media to say "well, if Rossi had been fit..." whereas beating Rossi by 5 seconds will make that argument much more difficult to make. Especially as Rossi will be asked before Misano how his fitness is and what his expectations are.

Must admit I am looking forward to Misano now, just to see how far Rossi will go.

Quick bit of nice news.........the powers that be are looking at including MotoGP AND Moto2 at Laguna in 2011 if possible but definately in 2012.Can`t remember where I read it though......sorry.

I saw that, properley good news. Might even get me to start saving!

I guess he was nice enough to not slam HJC at the end of the race......but it looks like he still brought it up in the press/media.

true, I did see it in another release, but he did keep it to himself when it mattered I suppose. Anyone know how long he's been wearing HJC helmets?

Rossi clearly thought the anthem was hilarious

I personally think they have made too big a deal about the anthem thing. It was a hilarious moment, and I say this had it even been vice versa. He is lucky/worthy to have been on top of the podium at almost every race this season which speaks a lot more than an anthem chosen wrong.

National prejudice needs some loosening up. It feels nice to see one's country men up there, but there are moments like this one that can be laughed off as joke. Besides, what would rob Spain of one of their most glorious years in sport history

I love all national anthems really - they all sound so melodious, and I thoroughly enjoy them even I am not too fond of the racer on the top step very much

Well it's just ironical that it happened in the homeland of patriotism and national pride. Just think how the US would react if Hayden or any other American was on the #1 spot and the stereo started God save the Queen, Oh Canada or the Mexican song - Oh well - even if the venue had all the music - there's not much chance of it happening some time soon

PS - It couldn't have happened to a more deserving macho sour faced prat than Horegay

That's hysterical! The looks on all their faces. World-weary codger Rainey looking discretely bemused,

Stoner looking befuddled, Lorenzo with his "What the ....???" face, and clown prince Rossi appears

to be having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have - with a freshly mending tibia.

This would be a good photo for a caption contest.

The look on Rossi's face cracked me up, it was like he was taunting Lorenzo saying, you will always be in my shadow ......
