KTM boss attacks Zarco's MotoGP Form

Mike Leitner and Herve Poncheral have both confirmed the Miguel was given first refusal for the ride and it's claimed he wished to stay with Tech 3 and Guy Coulon.

It seems hes a bit salty because he didn't think a rookie would be given the ride as he expected the experienced Kallio to take the seat.

If anything I think issues like this should be dealt with internally. It serves no one involved to have this discussion out in the public through the press.

It serves no one... other than loyal fans who crave transparency...

Seems like Zarco is willing to open his mind to explore the RCV potential.

12 4 44 Pol ESPARGARO SPA Red Bull KTM Factory Racing KTM 175.0 +26.654
13 3 5 Johann ZARCO FRA LCR Honda IDEMITSU Honda 175.0 +26.758

16 99 Jorge LORENZO SPA Repsol Honda Team Honda 172.2 +1'06.045

Not bad for his first ride on a foreign bike given the limited clear dry track time this weekend. Stoked for him, can't wait for Sepang. Would have loved for him to put it over Pol, even by a 10th. :)

Clearly not a one trick pony, only fast on the user friendly Yamaha.

Was Zarco fast enough on the RCV to convince Honda to axe Lorenzo? I dont think so, but he did demonstrate that he deserves to still be in the sport. does he settle for a testing role with Yamaha, or does he drop to Moto2.

I thought he did a pretty good job given he had never even ridden the RCV before and that the weekends weather didn't really do him any favours in getting up to speed quickly.

The next two rounds should give a better indication.

You are rushing to judgement! Considering the weather condition he did good to be in the points. He has two more opportunity to make a statement. After Valencia judgement should be made.

Pol on the KTM is no slouch and would have had a lot of pride helping to push him to finish ahead of Zarco, on the KTM very much developed around Pol.

Pol finished a 10th of a second ahead of Zarco, nothing in it. Zarco was riding a year old RCV for the very first time. I won't use the Lorenzo comparison because it not a fair measure given Lorenzo's performance slump but Zarco put in a solid ride, not crashing it all weekend (i think), shows he may have more in the tank. And after riding the KTM for a good part of a season the tricky Honda probably feels like a Yamaha with training wheels lol.

EDIT:
The KTM 'project' may be the perfect training ground for Honda to poach riders to adapt quickly on the 'difficult' Marcentric RCV. :)

does Honda have that much time to decide? Honda is already operating on next seasons budget, the team is already deep in the development of their 2020 bike, and the 2020 season starts the day after the Valencia race.

My point, Honda does not have 3 rounds to decide, if it happens it will be after Sepang.

KTM is a sect, wtf about Oliveira having surgery in a "Red Bull facility" in Austria, by an Austrian surgeon

Sounds like Frankenstein

I’m sure the facility and the dr are top notch but it does sound ....... strange.

Red Bull health insurance is coming next obviously. There slogan is going to be we were can literally give you wings’

To be honest Red Bull actually offer some really top notch health insurance, they just don't cover dental for some reason?

His performance on the Honda makes me think he could tame Ducati, too. If they had a little more flexible thinking at Ducati they should boot Petrucci and give his ride to Zarco. What have they to lose, Petrucci is not even top ten, he is leaving impression his best days are over.

Dovi has been struggling too. I strongly suspect that the Ducatis have fallen behind in development. Virtually all the other brands appear to have improved both since last year, and over the course of the 2019 season. According to all the pundits, the Ducs still do not turn well.

Ducati seemed to have lost something over the corse of the year, though Jack miller has had a good season, Bagnaia has also improved. Dovi has not looked the same after that crash at Silverstone, it seems to me that he has just been trying to wrap up the runner up spot in the championship.

If I was Ducati boss I'd aim for following lineup: Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Zarco, Bagnaia. All one year contracts. But I'm not Ducati boss, so heck with it. :p
