What is the problem with Zarco and the KTM bike?

Lap 14 since you ask. [emoji848]...Over half race distance and showing no signs of slowing.
On the lowest spec M1. Seriously impressive.

Yes it looks good in the short run. If these were time-trials this would be significant. But as has been pointed out, repeatedly both in the press (to say nothing of everybody with elementary powers of observation who actually watch the races) and by race commentators - the Yamahas (both satellite and factory) suffer a degradation in power and overmuch tire wear at about the 3/4 race distance and then fade back.

You seem stuck on the idea that I'm denigrating the skills of the riders. I am not. I'm merely pointing out limitations of the current M1 - which are obvious to everybody - except you. Yamaha has been in an R&D deadzone for two seasons now and thus far show no signs of revival.

In the the previous race Rossi had the skills to win, but despite his talent for finishing on worn tires, he could not compete against Rins on the Suzuki which is still considered to be underpowered. And Rossi only got that close to the front because Marquez and Crutchlow crashed.

The factory Yamaha squad have suffered since Lorenzo left. Absolutely none of these so called issues plagued him. Great bike they just need a decent rider.

When Lorenzo was still riding - the Yamaha was competitive. In the interim they have failed to keep up with Honda and Ducati both of whom have continually improved.

Zarco was the last rider other than Rossi to regularly excel on the M1. However development of the bike has been largely focused on Rossi which likely was a deciding factor
when he jumped ship, tho I'm not inclined to blame Rossi for it's current decline any more than I would credit him for it's better days.

Just a few posts back you were touting the immense talent of the two satellite riders and here, you're saying the bike suffers because they're not up to snuff as compared to Lorenzo. Which is it?

I specifically said the FACTORY squad have suffered since Lorenzo' s departure. Not the satellite squad.

We all agree that the factory squad has suffered. But what we do not agree on is why. You blame the riders - but factory riders were
in fact getting consistently good results prior to the last two seasons. So . . . what is more logical to assume? Both riders have declined
in talent? Or that Yamaha has dropped the ball? How can you watch them ride and not see the problem is the bike???

You say the issues with the bike are "so-called" despite people more knowledgeable than you and I repeatedly point out the failings of the bike,
virtually predicting at numerous races, at which point in the race the Yamahas would start to fade, which can only lead one to think either you really believe you know better than the pros in the paddock - or you're just deeply in denial. Or you're just too stubborn to admit when you're wrong.

Well SOMEONE is certainly in denial. I said the FACTORY squad have suffered since Lorenzo left meaning they have suffered BECAUSE he left. Someone better inform Fabio and Franco that they're on rubbish bikes....they don't seem to have noticed.

Let's see . . .

At Qatar Morbidelli took an 11th and Fabio took a breathtaking 16th place

In Argentina Fabio was 13th and Morbidelli a fabulous 19th

At COTA Morbidelli took a 5th @ 19 seconds behind the underpowered Suzuki and Fabio took 7th 26 seconds back

In Jerez Morbidelli took 7th @ 8.3 seconds back and Fabio's bike crapped out mid-race.

Just a hunch, gonna go out on a limb - but I reckon they have taken notice.

That underpowered Suzuki seems quite powerful with its win at Texas and 2nd at Jerez, got away from Dovi no probs too...anyway Fabio and Franco 1 and 2 in qualifying at Jerez, Fabio smashing the lap record and topping testing...looking like a sure podium at the weekend bar a suspicious gearbox issue, both running at the front...damn those useless Yamahas.

Wasted enough time with you on this. If you still think a couple hot laps are an indicator of a likely podium, you've learned zero about the history of the sport.

Not always nice having the truth pointed out I guess.

What is wrong with your brain? In one post you say how the bike has declined after Lorenzo left the team in the next you say the Yamahas are the best bike in the field. You are contradicting yourself. Then you say the Petronas riders are hot ...., but then in the next post you say Yamaha's suffering because they don't have good riders, once again contradicting yourself. The factory squad bikes that were being run in seasons following Lorenzo's departure and the same bikes currently being used by the Petronas team. Further still, you ignore the lack of podiums by the Petronas team blowing it off with some ........ comment about a "suspicious" mechanical problem.

:p:p:p Oh yeah . . . the "suspicious gearbox issue".

What's that quote from Marc Maron?: "Conspiracy theories make dumb people feel smart."

Hmmm..looks like I've struck a nerve there. If you read my posts you'll see that in actual fact I said the factory squad bikes are perfectly good, Lorenzo romped to the 2015 title on it. Funny how the bike is rubbish since he left. The satellite squads performances pretty much prove it. Stick a decent rider like Fabio in the factory team and you'd have a serious championship contender.
