Lorenzo has the best Factory team in the class BUILT entirely around HIM, no one else, even last year when he had Barbera as a teammate, it was ALLL about him, thats why Hector quit fortuna, coz Lorenzo is the man Aprilia want as world champion.. Put Dovi, Aoyama, Guintoli, West, Baldolini, any rider on inferior machinery in the Fortuna Aprilia team with the level of support Whore-Gay gets and theyd be the best 250cc rider in the world instead..

Aprilia supply plenty of riders with factory aprilias and they still couldn't stop Jorge winning half the races and dominating the campionship last year. Barbera left fortuna because Lorenzo requested a one man team in his contract negotiations, but remains on factory equipment. Dovi is a bit of an unknown because the Honda is a little bit weaker, but he still doesn't have what Lorenzo has.

And you are kidding yourself every day that you continue to believe west can run with the big boys.

He didnt do well at all.. Qualified 17th and finished 13th but the team are trying to get the bike sorted due to their lack of testing time (compared to the rest.) During the race Ant's top speed was second last, beaten only by Laverty's (who finished last? second last?) Either way, a 'near factory' bike's top speed should at least be quicker than the privateer machines? surely? Regardless, Ant will be strong come Jerez, he qualified sixth there last year on the P.O.S he was riding, so just give it time..

And Tom, he can run with the front guys, given the machinery (you cant honestly say he's ever had machinery thats been capable of REGULAR front running ability.) This year he is supposed to have that machinery, but im still skeptical, time will tell...

The trouble is, hes been doing the same thing for a long time now and hasn't made any improvement and doesn't seem to be progressing much as a rider. He was given a factory shot with KTM, and i know the bike was brand new but he had an opertunity to promote himself and get noticed more. But he is right back where ha has always been, pLus he has never really gone above and beyond his machinary enough to make me think that he has what it takes.

All of this is really frustrating, given how well he rides in the wet. He obviously has talent, balls and an excellent feel for a bike to be so damn quick when its slippery. It all suggests that hes just not riding well enough on most weekends, and hes had years to sort it out and hasnt. If something does fnally change and he performs as he should i will be very very surprised, and i will eat my words. But for now i insist he is only as good as his mediocre bike and fighting for small points results suggest.
